Re: Ireland - First time passport applications timelines -2021

Hi everyone, hope you had a good weekend. I've recently received my FBR certificate and have been going through the process to get my Passport application ready. I have my birth and FBR certificates, and relevant proofs of name/address. I can get someone I know to certify my driver's license. Howev...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hello all, just dropping in to leave a link to an 'interesting' article in the Daily Mail - thought the Brits waiting on here may like to read it. Looks like the Brexit penny is eventually dropping for some - Quelle Surprise! - Ganz Unerwartet! https://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-10475013/TOM...

Re: Ireland - First time passport applications timelines -2021

It's now been a week since my estimated issue date, and the status still says processing. I've just had another webchat, where the operator informed me that they will pass it on to their superiors to look into. She advised that I keep checking the tracker and my emails as I should get an update som...

Re: Ireland - First time passport applications timelines -2021

Anyone coming up on their "due date" or have gone past it? I'm at day 52 now, status bar went back from 100% on Dec 1st to 80% now, still processing application. I did get a hold of them via web chat but they could provide no information other than the application is going through entitlement check...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I was tempted to take my own but have seen a few applicants online had photos rejected and then problems with resubmission and delays. The photo booths (they claim) assess the picture for suitability for the Irish requirements, image head/shoulder, file size/format etc. So I'm hoping to reduce the c...

Good news - I have received the confirmation of address email :D - Thanks to everyone for posting supportive advice and info and keeping hopes up over many months. Re: Foreign Birth Registration

With all the waiting and no information or communication so many are despairing. The FBR and passport processing is a clearly a big issue for the whole country. The passport delays featured in a Live phone-in on RTE radio just a few weeks ago. If you want to hear some of the issues experienced it gi...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I applied 2 years ago today and not heard a sausage since. The website has consistently said the waiting time is 12-18 months throughout that time :D The wait goes on. Yep - I'm on second anniversary now - I've not heard a dickie-bird - on the scale of not hearing anything I'm not sure which of us ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

It's probably worth noting that it is possible to get two different versions of Irish birth certificates - the standard one and the fully-authenticated one. They are essentially the same document however the fully-authenticated one comes stamped and embossed with an official seal plus a letter of a...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

News article today on passport pressures. It doesn't look like FBR applications will be prioritised any time soon. https://www.independent.ie/irish-news/politics/concerns-over-passport-service-staff-as-they-deal-with-backlog-of-112000-applications-during-peak-season-40719460.html I was an August 201...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hi everyone, I've had a scan through the more recent pages of this thread but can't find the precise answer I'm looking for. I applied online for an FB1A a while ago (December 2019) but have only just managed to actually pull all the documentation together (my sister is applying at the same time, s...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I can't recall anyone reporting a new FBR granted since before Christmas. They seem to be tidying up those in limbo granted FBR but without certificates. But no-one has reported any new processing of applications. Passports were recently reclassified as and 'essential' service and so the twitter fee...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Some quotes from an article in 'Dublin Live' today: "Taoiseach Micheal Martin has said that the new set of rules announced by the Government yesterday could be described as 'Level 3 plus'. " “So that has meant some variation on strictly from going from Level 5 to 4 to 3. You could describe it maybe ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Can FBR return to work on April 12? Have not seen any new announcement of re-opening for FBR or Passport processing. Still seems to be Passports processing will return at Level 4 and FBR at level 3 with the backlog to clear. (Though they have modified the roadmap and it is still all provisional on ...
