Re: Declaration of fidelity is back?

If you sign the declaration, is the application process faster? Just got a letter today that my application was approved and that I have 4 weeks to send back the declaration of fidelity, and if I don't return it in 4 weeks I'll be required to attend an in-person ceremony. The letter is dated 17th o...

Re: Citizenship Certificate by post - do you need to be at home?

@jlrods, I'm an EU citizen already, so I can't help much ... maybe you can post as a new topic and I'm pretty sure there will be people in a similar situation who have some good answers for you

Citizenship Certificate by post - do you need to be at home?

Question for those who had received the Citizenship Certificate by post: is this sent as registered post? Do you need to be at home or would they just drop it into the letterbox? I was wondering as I'm usually at work now during the day, and I am also going away for few weeks later in the summer to ...

Re: Moving abroad after naturalisation application

I’m aware of the 6 weeks away guideline however my wife (Irish spouse) will be moving away to the UK for work for a year or so and as the naturalisation applications are currently taking 2 years time I want to move in with her after submitting my naturalisation application as it’s too long to live ...

The letter is dated 17th of June. I was honestly almost ready to give up as I thought I'd h...

Re: RIP Oath of Fidelity Affidavit Process

A better way would be to do a petition (e.g. change.org). If you can convince a great number of applicants that the temporary measurements should not be removed, the Committee on Public Petitions will be forced to review the case and provide an assessment, and they will have to engage with the rele...

Re: Is the citizenship ceremony mandatory?

Spotted this in the 2020 timeline, which should provide an answer to my question (though not the one I hoped for) - Note only option is ceremony now, no declarations of fidelity by post any more, this is the statement from INIS... "With the re-introduction of citizenship ceremonies the temporary pro...

Is the citizenship ceremony mandatory?

Hey folks, Is the ceremony mandatory or can you still get the naturalization certificate without attending the ceremony? I might hopefully get approved soon, based on 2021 timelines, however I guess at this stage I won't be invited to the ceremony in June ... seems pre-pandemic ceremonies were held ...

Postal address for e-vetting form (citizenship)

Hi folks, I've applied for citizenship and, as it is happening to everyone, I've got a form to fill and send back in order to request e-vetting. This form has been sent back to me because of legal formalities (I missed to put my name in in the final declaration above my signature), however in this s...

Re: Leaving Ireland after naturalisation

Thanks a lot for this, this is all great info! About informing INIS that I intend to be abroad for more than 6 weeks after having sent my application in, how would I do that? Send them an email with my application no. and declaring my intent and reason (eg visit family and working from there for few...

Re: Citizenship application by post or online?

I applied in Feb. and sent it by post along with passport (it might take 1 to 2 months to get it back with the current restrictions) ... there's an application timeline thread in here https://www.immigrationboards.com/ireland/2021-citizenship-applications-timelines-only-t311848-20.html and don't see...

Re: Leaving Ireland after naturalisation

The only requirement is to declare the intention to retain the citizenship annually after leaving the state for 7 years. Even that has never been in use. There is simply no resource or technically viable solution for them to check where you live, nor do they care. wondering about this too, as I'm i...

ROI citizenship - 6 weeks rule (EU citizen)

Hi all, I'm specifying EU citizen in the title for 2 reasons: * I am not required to use the calculator; * for trips within EU, I don't have stamps in my passport. I've looked into multiple threads but I still can't exactly wrap my head around how the 6 weeks rule works and the official documentatio...
