Re: Question on British Passport Application Timelines

Isn't the identity referee contacted by email? Letter suggests post office mail .... Likely true. When the referee adds their information, they also add their address details. I also found it odd that they said a letter and did ask the person on the phone and he confirmed that they sent my colleagu...

Re: Question on British Passport Application Timelines

Thanks so much! I did call and they said that my application is pending a letter from the colleague who initially confirmed my identity to supply further information. It seems that that letter never got to them - probably because they recently moved houses! At any rate, they told me what they need a...

Re: Question on British Passport Application Timelines

Thank you for responding! I sent it to Hemel Hempstead. I want to plan some travels but am also a little anxious to be honest. It will be a disaster if they end up losing my documents because getting them back would be not only a hassle but also would potentially cost lots of time and money. My emba...

Question on British Passport Application Timelines

Hi all, I would really appreciate some advice. I applied for my first adult British passport almost 6 weeks ago. The last update on the system confirms that they received my documents. I know that they say that we should allow up to 10 weeks to receive the passport, so didn’t want to call and follow...

Did anyone here hear anything? My application seems to be similarly stuck at Hemel Hempstead and I am starting to get very worried…

Re: Travel allowed after citizenship application approved email

To my knowledge, since your child is now British, his BRP is no longer valid and has to be returned to the HO within five days of receiving the naturalisation certificate. This also means that you can only leave the country when your child gets their first British passport - otherwise they may not ...

Re: Acknowledgment Email

I think that’s the only email most applicants get. There won’t be a separate acknowledgment from UKVI. Ah thank you for clarifying. I somehow thought that applicants also receive another acknowledgement from UKVI. That’s a relief then, thank you! This whole process is so stressful - I need to stop ...

Hi all, I read on this forum that some people receive an acknowledgment email as soon as or a few days after submitting their citizenship application. In my case, I received absolutely no communication whatsoever - just the UKVCAS email immediately after submitting enabling me to book the biometric ...

Re: Consent forms no longer required?

You need to submit the consent forms! Hello. I had my biometrics appointment on August 12th and I hadn't uploaded the consent forms. I pointed this out to the employee at UKVCAS but she said I do not need to submit those. I am yet to receive a response from Furthernationalityenquiries@homeoffice.go...

Re: Previous Biometric Residence Cards - Include in uploaded documents?

Thank you so much! That’s what I thought too. Actually when I got my settled status last year, I didn’t apply for a new card, just kept my pre-settled status card in case I needed it for travel (which in the end I didn’t use at all). So I am including the HO letter confirming my settled status and m...

Previous Biometric Residence Cards - Include in uploaded documents?

Hi All, Thanks very much for this forum and all its great members for their much appreciated support. I included a scan of a BRC from a previous leave,...

Re: Consent forms no longer required?

2) I wasn't given the option to submit my documents via the app. I was directly directed to UKVCAS to book an appointment, which I did, but was just wondering if this is normal. this is fine; some go through the app, some have to get an appointment, nothing unusual with that. UKVCAS decides this fo...

Consent forms no longer required?

Hi all, Thanks so much for everyone here for all the support and help. I have just submitted my naturalisation application and have two questions: 1) I noticed that in the application I wasn't asked to submit the consent forms for the HO to verify the application information. Have these been scrappe...

Hopefully, they will take a common-sense approach.
These are very useful threads, thank you! Indeed, the problem is that there is no common sense approach applied and they treat people as if they are liars until they can prove otherwise.

Re: Name change on BRP, naturalisation certificate or passport

@alterhase58, thanks so much for this very helpful reply and guidance. I think you are probably right - no need to just create a hassle with the BRP. I will wait until I apply for naturalisation and apply with my married name. I probably have to fight out with the HMPO anyway, so will get all the pa...

Name change on BRP, naturalisation certificate or passport

Hello, I am quite confused over the application of the one name policy in the UK and it’s limitations in acknowledging variations in laws in other non-Western countries which is causing lots of problems to dual nationals. I come from a country where name changes as a result of marriage isn’t permiss...
