Re: Foreign Birth Registration

If you think that's the case then basically you're attempting to queue jump ahead of those that respect the notice on the DFA website not to send in supporting documentation at this time. Eh, if the FBR staff process us first because we sent in documentation when they didn't want us to, then that's...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hey everyone, I was hoping for some clarification. I am ready to submit the online application form and send the documents but the website says don’t send anything yet as it is paused due to COVID. I was just wondering if someone has send it regardless of that notice and heard from the office since...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I got tired/bored of waiting, so dropped off the application for my son with the USPS today. They said it would take 5-6 business days to get from the United States to Ireland. Application submitted: April 13th, 2021 I am hoping that this entire process (including Irish passport) is completed befor...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I mean, this has nothing to do with Ireland or the Irish government: at the end of the day human beings wish for their interactions with a bureaucracy, be it public or private, to be efficient. And I think it's quite reasonable for those same human beings to be annoyed when said bureaucracy isn't be...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Oh really? I've been so focussed on getting her Irish citizenship and I thought it would be difficult as I have never had a British passport. I will look into that now and see which documents are required. Thank you. You can ask for more specific details in the UK immigration section of these forum...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Should I go ahead and mail my son's FBR application or should I wait to mail until the lockdown is over? I'd say wait until Level 5 is lifted to send it. It'll be a long time until completion so a few weeks won't matter. I originally paid extra for my shipping to get it there faster (almost two yea...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hi everyone I have a couple questions Is it worth doing the online application now even though I can't send the supporting documents yet? Anyone have any idea when we will be able to send the supporting documents?! Do the proofs of address need to be within a certain recent timeframe? 1) I complete...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Looks like you have it all covered. Make sure you put the application # on outside of delivery package when you send it. Not needed but I had all of my documents notarized . It was free at my bank so I figured that'd make all those signatures look more official. I added a short statement for ID's -...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hi Frozen, You say: - Four passport photos for my son and four passport photos for myself - will obtain this as the last step. What's the purpose of the photos of yourself? If you are not applying for FBR for yourself, why the photos? TrishMc Hi TrishMc, I believe if applying on behalf of a minor y...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hi all, I stumbled upon this thread while searching for information regarding foreign birth registration. Due to COVID it appears that the FBR team isn't answering any questions so I was hoping to make sure I have everything correct before submitting the FBR application for my son. Some quick backgr...
