All, I hve a friend of mine wanting to apply for TIER1 . His gross annual salary is 400K ( 4 Lakhs) INR Just wanted to know if he qualifies for the point for earning. Not sure about your point 2 but for point 1, called up HO and confirmed,

if the visa expires and your passport and the application is still with HO, you are legally allowed to work in UK.

Im also into same category.

As far as I know, I think it's possible to get the parents as dependent conditioning they should not be in active service.

Please let me know if you get any details.
