waiting for naturalisation after ILR + British husband

Dear Friends, I am a British citizen since 2023. My wife very recently got your ILR (via Tier 1 Talent dependant route). What period should she wait to apply for naturalisation? In my case, it was 1 year after obtaining ILR status, but I was told her situation is different, because of my British cit...

Re: Immigration history in Set (O) application

Thank you! I thought the same regarding the date. However, I did not know that she doesn't not need to wait an additional 12 months (as I waited previously with my ILT before applying for a passport). Thanks for the reference- I will use this link.

Re: Immigration history in Set (O) application

Dear Friends, I appreciate your help. My wife finally got her ILR status and new card. I noticed that the expiration date for her new card is 31 December 2024. I read in the letter (attached to the card) that with this expiration date her immigration status, entitlement to work, access to services o...

Re: Immigration history in Set (O) application

Thank you for the clarification. May I ask you the last question here: In the list of supportive documents for my wife's application, I found this "Evidence of Mrs xxx immigration status in the UK". As I understand it is her current BRP card, right? P.S. Sorry if this question has been already asked...

Re: Immigration history in Set (O) application

I think I figured out the reason. There is a new question in this form: Does the period of stay on which this application was based include any leave granted since 11 January 2018 ? and if you answer Yes - then the form suggests you to provide details: Have you had any absences from the UK during an...

Dear Friends, Could you please help me with the ILR application for my wife? Bringing parents as UK citizen

Hello, I have become a UK citizen a couple of months ago. Now, I want to bring my parents to the UK. They are citizens of Lebanon (so, not EU/EEA/Switzerland). I have heard that if a child is a UK citizen, his/her parents can obtain long-term visas (5 years) to visit the UK. So, I have two questions...

2 questions regarding UK passport application

Dear Friends, I hold ILR status and arrived in the UK in October 2017. For my ILR application, I passed IELTS B1 Life Skills Test. I have two questions regarding my future application for a UK passport: 1) Can I use the results of my IELTS B1 test, or do I need to take another one (called IELTS SELT...

Re: Question about ILR for dependant (T1 Exceptional Talent)

I tried to change the IHS payment, but it does not provide the option for recalculating. It only suggests I pay 936£. As I understand - I need to start the whole application again. If so - I cannot see how to cancel the current application. There is no option "Withdraw this application" and followin...

Re: Question about ILR for dependant (T1 Exceptional Talent)

Thanks for the help Friends. Something strange happened with my IHS fees. I filled out all the necessary information and pointed out that my wife's visa will expire on April 2023. The system suggested then to pay 936£ (which is 624£x 1.5). In other words, instead of the 3 years (as was pointed out a...

Re: Question about ILR for dependant (T1 Exceptional Talent)

Re: Question about ILR for dependant (T1 Exceptional Talent)

Just a clarification - I read different sources: 1) https://www.gov.uk/global-talent/extend-your-visa 2) https://www.immigration.uk/visas/Global_Talent_visa and in both of them, it is stated that extension can be from 1 to 5 years. I cannot find anything about a minimum 3 years extension requirement...

1. Any time before expiry
2. It will be a 3 year extension no matter how close she's eligible for ILR, so 3 years of IHS (3*624). It is also non-refundable once she get ILR

Thanks a lot for your help!
