Re: Dependant eligibility for ILR

Not paranoid. But it is fair to say that the longer it takes while other standard applications are being processed in 2-3 weeks, the more likely it is turning out to be complicated (and I admit it is complicated, I think officers somewhere are arguing about my question on this topic and how should t...

Re: Dependant eligibility for ILR

Thanks Zimba That's what I thought when I applied for both of us, thinking it is straightforward. But it has been 6 weeks with no response and I see people on standard are still getting it in less than 3 weeks. So I am starting to speculate about what could be the problem. The longer it takes, the l...

Dependant eligibility for ILR

Hi I am currently on a GTV Exceptional Talent visa. Before that I was for 3y4m on Tier 2. This makes me eligible for ILR because I can count towards the 3 years required any time I spent on Tier 2. My spouse has been with me on dependant visas since 2015. First as a Tier 4 dependant, then a Tier 4 D...

Re: Curious as to why traveling while having a pending application makes it void

Many are keen on reminding me that it doesn't matter. I am asking out of curiosity. It is good (for me at least) to understand the underlying logic if it exists. I understand that at the end of the day case officers follow the text and not the logic. That being said. I don't think the rules being wh...

Re: Curious as to why traveling while having a pending application makes it void

It seems current granted leave remains valid while an application is Pending. But if you travel, the pending application will be considered withdrawn. Based on your previous posts, you applied for a 1 year GTV till September 2023, which is when you become eligible for ILR. So yes, submitting an app...

Re: Curious as to why traveling while having a pending application makes it void

Secondly, when you need something from someone, you have to do exactly what they want. You don't have to like it, but whatever rules and regulations they come up with can't be questioned.
No.

Curious as to why traveling while having a pending application makes it void

It seems current granted leave remains valid while an application is Pending. But if you travel, the pending application will be considered withdrawn. I am curious whether people can think of good reasons for having this rule. What is it aimed at/protecting from? Just trying to understand the ration...

Re: Using previous IHS number

Thanks for the response. Yes. You might get a refund, you might not. It can also take several weeks. Strange that there is no clear guidance on that. At least none that I was able to find. Such thing should be stated clearly. Do you know what will happen if I enter my old IHS? the application seem t...

Using previous IHS number

Hi all I am currently on a skilled worker visa for which IHS is paid until July 2024. I am switching to GTV and applying for 1 year only (because that's what I need before I am eligible for ILR), i.e. expiry date is September 2023. Can I use my old IHS number since it covers that period? Or should I...

Re: Switching from Tier 2 Skilled Worker Visa to Global Talent Visa

Can my wife and kids can stay on tier 2 Visa till expiry date or they also must change their visa from Tier 2 dependant to global talent visa Yes they can. As long as you're on a valid work visa and regardless of employer, your dependents' visas remain valid until they expire. Here's one instance o...

confusing Tech Nation application form

Hi all I am filling the form and it feels like it needs significant improvement. I have few questions: - Where do I add the personal statement? The guidance states that 'The Personal Statement must be submitted using the Tech Nation form and not uploaded as a separate document". However, there ...

Re: can Tier 4 and Tier 2 Dependent time be combined towards ILR?

Thanks! Your wife will only be eligible for ILR after 5 years stay as a PBS dependant, i.e. in Feb 2025, see immigration rule GT 30.1, Qualifying period requirement for settlement as a dependent partner on the Global Talent route GT 30.1. The applicant must have spent a continuous period of 5 years ...

Re: Switching to Global Talent Visa after 3+ years on Tier 2

I know it doesn't. It sounds a bit redundant is all I am saying, given that: - I don't need to pay IHS as my current Tier 2 visa, for which IHS was paid, is valid until July 2024 - I will automatically become eligible for ILR after getting it. - AFAIK, the endorsement is the single non-standard requ...

Thanks again manci for answering this question as well. Very kind of you. >Note that sometime in 2015 both of you may also be eligible to apply for ILR under the Long Residence rules yeah! (2025), but I am thinking of applying to GTV exceptional talent visa such that I become automatically eligible....

Re: Switching to Global Talent Visa after 3+ years on Tier 2

Thanks manci! appreciate it. It is a bit non-sensical in this case that I have to apply for a GTV, get it and then become eligible for ILR immediately, given that the requierments for the GTV are only a subset of the ILR. It feels like I should need to get the endorsement (stage 1) before proceeding...

can Tier 4 and Tier 2 Dependent time be combined towards ILR?

Hi My wife has been living with me in the UK since 2015, first on a Tier 4 Student Dependent visa, as I was still a student. Then since February 2020 as a Tier 2 Dependent. In total she's been with me on dependent visas for 7 years. Two questions: 1- can she apply for ILR even while I am still on Ti...

Switching to Global Talent Visa after 3+ years on Tier 2

Hi I have been on Tier 2 visa for over 3 years, and I am thinking of applying for endorsment to the Global Talent visa as an Exceptional leader. The guidance said that if granted, I would elligible for ILR in 3 years, but also that I can include time spent on Tie 2 to count for these 3 years. What d...

What happens if I paid IHS but not application fees and then abandon the application?

tHi

If on an application I made the IHS payment but not the application fee. What happens if I change my mind and abandon the application, ie ignore it? do I automatically get the IHS refund? if yes how long does it take?

Thanks!

Paid IHS but want to delay application, do I get partial IHS refund

Hi all I still have 3 years and few days on my current leave to remain (Tier 2 General) and I am applying for a child dependent visa for my newborn. I realized after paying the IHS that had I waited until I had < 3 years on my visa(6th of July), I would have paid £235 less in IHS. I also would have ...
