Re: Foreign Birth Registration

An update Just received my confirmation of address email. No indication of success yet though. Getting really nervous now. Estranged from mother so couldn't provide her state ID. Fingers crossed. Oh yay! Great news. If this puts your mind at ease most people I have seen who have had queries (i.e. s...

Any inkling as to why it’s suddenly taking so long between address confirmation and congrats email?
I’m based in UK and we had postal strikes over Christmas period, so I think it might have caused a bit of delay to approval and printing. But this is just me guessing

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

When does FBR close for Christmas and re-open?
If it's the same as the passport office they are closed 24th - 27th Dec and then 31st Dec - 2nd Jan.

They'll be open on 28th-30th Dec and then open again 3rd Jan.

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

my child's FBR back in 2018 was approved in under 2 weeks. Thankfully, it was handled by an experienced consular worker, not some lass who did not qualify for a M&S christmas job and landed FBR one instead to clear the backlog Hi, I am grateful for this forum, which has been nothing but a positive ...

Also another thing I learned from Facebook group is that they were sending address confirmations yesterday! They are really working around the clock.

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Okay, I've gone back through the last several pages of this thread and updated my copy of the spreadsheet with the available information from after 26 Oct 2022. Here's that link again. Almighty FBR Timeline Spreadsheet - Resurrected! You're such a legend for a) saving a copy in first place and b) t...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Reading on the Facebook group that two people who had their documents accepted on 12th May 2021 have had their address checks today!

Annoyingly I can't remember my exact date, but I think my docs were received mid-June, so perhaps not long to go now...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Wow guys, this is so exciting, I can't believe we are seeing September 2020 applications! This time last month, March 2020 was still trickling through... I'm a June 2021 application, so now I am quietly hopeful that it could be a January 2023 approval. And actually if the Google Sheet is representat...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

One thing the the GRO - they are incredibly slow - - when I applied for my documents back in March I didn't get them until the end of April. If you want something quicker you have to pay a very expensive fee. I should add that the GRO are very unhelpful and not very contactable while on the other h...

Re: Ireland - First time passport applications timelines -2021

Hi all, The full timeline of my mother receiving her first passport is on the other thread, she applied as she was born Irish abroad. She received her passport Saturday 17th July and received her original documents four weeks later on Saturday 14th August in the UK. We’d almost begun to believe they...

Re: First time passport application

What is your timeline so far GIGPH? I assume you won't have to wait too much longer if my mum applied April but didn't send her docs in until early June. Her wait was 30 working days from sending the documents.

Hi all, My grandmother (born in Ireland) and mum (born in UK) have both applied for their first Irish passports.
