Re: Biometric appointment

OP, whoever is applying for you (let's call him Mr. X) should have received an email confirming that your application fee has been paid. In that email, there is a summary about what to do next, with a link for you to return to your application and book an appointment with the UKVCAS. You should tell...

Re: English proof of language

Hi, the following is quoted from the SW website "You’ll usually need to prove your knowledge of the English language when you apply, unless you did this in a previous successful visa application." If you had joined Sussex University for a Postgraduate course, I think you had already shown proof of E...

Re: Tier 2 (General work) - Job Promotion with the same employer

Your are welcome I am just hanging around sharing what I know while working on my own visa application. It is primarily your HR's responsibility to determine the SOC of your new role to ensure proper compliance with the HO. In the case where this is not very straightforward, they should use their be...

Re: Tier 2 (General work) - Job Promotion with the same employer

You should be fine as long as your new role has the same SOC as your previous role. Check with your HR because they should also report this to the HO. If however your promotion resulted in a new SOC, you need to make a new visa application. Again, your HR will prepare the relevant paperwork for this...

Re: Tier 2 and Second job outside the UK

Tier 2 visa has been replaced by the Skilled Worker (SW) visa. Generally speaking, the new SW Visa gives you the right to work in the UK with a specific employer. It also gives you the right to undertake extra work in the UK provided certain criteria (same SOC, <= 20 hours per week etc) are met. Wha...

Re: English proof of language

I am assuming that you joined Sussex University with a valid UK visa; if so, you are exempted from showing proof of English when applying for SW visa.

Re: Switch Student Visa to Work Visa Within UK

Unlike the old T2, I do not think that course completion is specified as a requirement for switching from Student Visa to the new SW visa. Therefore OP you may proceed so long as your new employer is happy that you will either be a) continue studying while being employed with them b) drop out your c...

CoS Received: How to Check Undefined or Defined

Dear experts, I have recently received my Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) from my prospective employer for my Skilled Worker Visa application. I am currently in the UK under the Tier 4 visa. I will be applying to switch from Tier 4 to Skilled Worker Visa from inside the UK and thus I require the Un...
