Passport and BRP card during citizenship application

Hi,

I'm applying for British citizenship. May I ask if the HO will keep my passport and BRP card during the application process?

Thanks,

Phong

Re: Return of documents post British Passport

Hi, I'm on the same boat and tried to send them a message on twitter. I'm quite new to the twitter thing and can't find a way to send them a message. It's just gray out when I select their handle hm_passport on the list. Could you please check if you can tweet them or they just recently disable that...

Re: Tuberculosis test exemption

There is a single question Are you applying to join or remain with a person already in the UK? and a button to add this person's details. There is a note You don't need to add this person's details if they are a UK or EEA citizen. I'm ILR, so I click to add my details but the next form asks for an e...

Re: Tuberculosis test exemption

Hi vinny, Many thanks for your answer. I'm aware of the citizenship registration + British passport route but am afraid that the two applications would take too long (I read in this forum that the oversea passport could take 6 months). I would like to bring my son back to the UK after this Christmas...

Dear experts, My wife and I received ILR last month. We had a son born in the UK in July 2018. He came back to Vietnam, our home country, in June 2020 without applying for a UK visa before he left. We now would like to apply a visa for him to join us. 1. The first question is what kind of visa we sh...

Re: Register for child currently living overseas

The child was born before we got ILR. Well, we just got the ILR yesterday :). I think of the following options. 1. Apply in the UK while he's still in Vietnam - how to submit biometrics? 2. Apply in Vietnam - is it possible? please advise where to start 3. Apply a visitor visa for him to come him th...

Register for child currently living overseas

Dear, My wife and I are holding ILR. We have a 3-year-old son born in the UK but left the UK in June 2020 to stay in Vietnam. My question is that whether it's possible for us to register his citizenship while he's in Vietnam. I check the online application here and see that he needs to attend an app...

Listing absences before the basing period

Dear, I first entered the UK in 2011 to study. I started working with Tier 2 visa in Sep 2016 and doing an application now based on the 5-year working route. I would like to ask for advice to respond to 2 questions in the form: 1. When did you first enter the UK? Should it be 2011 or Sep 2016? I ass...
