Re: As a UK degree holder with ILR, how to answer question on previous visa where knowledge of English was to be proved?

Well. They scanned only the biodata & stamped pages of the passport on their own accord (I neither chose nor paid for any document scanning service). When they were scanning, I briefly enquired to them about it, and they said it is standard procedure for citizenship applications. They were selective...

Re: MN1 time limit for enrolling biometrics?

Referee declarations should not be months old. A few weeks is fine. The photo on the referee declaration form has to be no more than one month old . As per the official guidance ( https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/british-nationals-nationality-policy-guidance/general-information-all-britis...

Re: As a UK degree holder with ILR, how to answer question on previous visa where knowledge of English was to be proved?

1. I think they prefer scans of every page, including blank pages, to confirm that blank pages are blank? 2. Should be okay. Interesting. I submitted biometrics yesterday in support of my AN1 application yesterday. At the service point, the UKVCAS personnel only scanned the stamped pages of my pass...

Re: As a UK degree holder with ILR, how to answer question on previous visa where knowledge of English was to be proved?

Thank you. Last questions: 1. Only the stamped (i.e. non-blank ) pages of my passport need to be uploaded as proof of residency in the UK for the last 5 years, right? 2. Scans with two pages facing each other are hopefully acceptable (even though the orientation of stampings one facing page will be ...

Re: Possibility of delays & complications due to reporting different UK address for spouse in naturalisation application

If he lists as 'married', the form asks for the address of his spouse. Since he wishes to reunite with the family as soon as things work out, is it reasonable to list both their addresses as the same? If he lists two separate addresses, will this introduce needless delays in his naturalisation appl...

Possibility of delays & complications due to reporting different UK address for spouse in naturalisation application?

Asking for a friend who completes his 12-months ILR qualifying period soon & intends to submit their naturalisation application in about 20 days time. He is filling up the application form currently, and has a few questions given the current complicated personal situation described below. My friend ...

Discretion to waive the "free from immigration restrictions for the past 12 months" rule for naturalisation

I was reading the official guidance here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/naturalisation-as-a-british-citizen-by-discretion-nationality-policy-guidance/naturalisation-as-a-british-citizen-by-discretion-accessible#immigration-law where it states: Applicants under section 6(1) who have not ...

Re: As a UK degree holder with ILR, how to answer question on previous visa where knowledge of English was to be proved?

Thanks a lot. I shall answer "Yes" and state "ILR" in the subsequent field that opens up when doing so. I misunderstood "proof" meant doing the English language test. Also, I forgot to state my background in my original post. I am a non-EU national who obtained ILR through the Global Talent route la...

As a UK degree holder with ILR, how to answer question on previous visa where knowledge of English was to be proved?

I am filling out my AN1 application for naturalising as a British citizen. I am slightly confused on how to answer the following question: Your previous visa Do you have a previous visa, entry clearance or leave to remain where you had to prove your knowledge of English? If I click on "Yes", then a ...

Re: Emergency travel for family's medical emergency whilst ILR application decision is pending

Assuming her non-priority ILR application has not yet been processed, for my friend's wife to be able to return to the UK: 1. Can she apply for a UK spouse visa from her home country? Her husband holds ILR status in the UK, so this should be possible, right? 2. Can her current UK employer sponsor an...

Re: Emergency travel for family's medical emergency whilst ILR application decision is pending

Re: Emergency travel for family's medical emergency whilst ILR application decision is pending

1. Can she not apply for a spouse visa from her home country? Her husband holds ILR status, so this should be possible, right?

2. Can her current employer sponsor an SWV CoS for her, which she can apply from her home country?

Are these valid possibilities?

Emergency travel for family's medical emergency whilst ILR application decision is pending

Are council tax payments checked routinely as part of every AN naturalisation application?

From August 2018 until now, I have lived in a flat in the UK with my partner, who is a full-time PhD student. The Flat was rented in my partner's name. It was in a block of flats that are mostly leased out to students (i.e. student accommodation). I was an employee (with regular PAYE and NI). When I...

Dependent visa expiring imminently (April 14). Eligible for ILR on June 14. Can we apply for ILR now & delay biometrics?

Asking for a friend (non-EU passport holder, but that's not relevant I believe). Their skilled worker (dependent) visa expires in the next couple of days (April 14, 2023). However, they complete 5 years in the UK in the same visa category on July 15 2023, and hence become eligible to apply for ILR o...
