My friend has applied for entry clearance for her tier 2 visa (employer sponsored ) from Bangalore, India. It has been more then 6 weeks now.

NHS, Her employer in UK, wants to know the status.

Can you please advise how should her employer go about checking her entry clearance status.

pj, you need to send your current passport (need not be the one u used to enter the country). they send these document back and NO your passport would not be stamped to indicate anything.

There was another post regarding this.

They are apparently still processing cheques from the middle of June.

Yes the employer checked the home office system and the status against the existing COS says 'USED'.

I will ask her to speak to her employer and raise a new COS and reapply.

I mentioned either 'Annual paid leave' or 'Business trip' and I got my ILR.

So i dont think you have to be very specific like marriage, ..... etc

I got a new indian passport 6 months back,

You can get it sent back via special delivery.

Also one other thing. They take 3 working working days to issue a new passport. So you cannot collect it in person on the same day.
