Re: Foreign Birth Registration

On the passport application it states to send your current passport if you have one from another country. Does anyone know if that is required? With a 40 workday turn around time for first time applicants, I can't be without my US passport that long. Yes I can confirm a certified by your witness co...

Re: Ireland - First time passport applications timelines -2021

Sounds like operations normal then if you are 1 week past due date and they are saying check back in two weeks. For most of us they were going 2-3 weeks past due date. Four weeks late for my husbands. I don't think Omicron and Christmas helped. But they seem to be getting much faster now. Hopefully...

Re: Ireland - First time passport applications timelines -2021

Amazing, congrats to him. A perfect demonstration of sod's law. :D Haha thank you! It was a very straightforward application via his Irish Father, so no real idea why it took this long. After a 4 week overdue verifying time, that has to be a record for processing time! It was about 1 hour haha! I a...

Re: Ireland - First time passport applications timelines -2021

My husbands first time Irish passport (done online) had an estimated date of the 28/1/22. Its now 4 weeks overdue. I am so nervous whether or not we should use the webchat to chase it up... I was fine before, as a few people stated theirs were 4 weeks or 5 weeks late. But now seeing people who appl...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hi All, I'm in a bit of a confusing situation and I'm wondering if you can help. I'm applying for FBR through my Irish grandfather, he was a quirky character and tended to fabricate things a bit. On his birth and marriage certificate just his first and last name are written, however on his death ce...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Also, two of the four passport photos need to be witnessed. How are people doing this? There’s not much space on the back of a passport photo, so I’m not sure how they are expecting a certified as true statement, name, date, signature, official stamp and address etc. Handy tip for anyone with pets ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Following a surge of Covid cases in Ireland the government are asking people to work from home. No confirmation on impact to services like FBR, but it's been clearly communicated in the past that FBR processing cannot be done remotely, so there's a strong chance this could impact the reopening. htt...
