I have followed the previous post "Coalition prepares ground for attacking Tier 1 system?" (all 62 pages) and though I am utterly disgusted at the way the Government has decided to close T1(G) all together as their research supported their suspicion that many people are doing low skilled jobs, I am ...

Tier1HSMP I have noticed a couple of cases (in this post) where there has been simmilar difference in dates. Ideally they should give you 3 years from date of issue. May be the date of issue is considered the date they take the decision to grant further leave to remain as Tier 1 (i.e. the date on co...

Now in 3 years time if I apply for further leave to remain as T1 by sending my application 4 weeks before my current leave expire and HO take the decision say in 1 week. Would that mean that I will be 4 weeks short of qualifying 5 years period at the end of my second leave to remain as Tier 1 (consi...

May be it's too early to think about 5 year qualifying period in the face of rapidly changing immigration rules. Anyway, my understanding about qualifying period is that it starts the day your leave to remain (in country switching) as Tier 1 is issued (sticker in the passport). In my case the date d...

I am making an in-country application to switch into Tier 1. My wife and children are applying at the same time as me to switch into Tier 1 as my dependants. I am sending my personal bank statement to prove that I have access to 800 pounds and the funds were in my account throughout the last three ...

WoodieG wrote "No you don't, read the guidance. Students no longer need to complete their course before applying". So you think they will award 50 points for the PhD which you have not yet finished?. If so, HO might start awarding points for qualification which you INTEND to do. How cool would that ...

You need to have finished your PhD i.e finish write up (where you are now), then viva, then any corrections, and hard bound thesis submission). You need a letter to confirm that PhD has been awarded. Usually you get this confimation when you have met all the requirements mentioned above and have gon...
