Re: Foreign Birth Registration

A question for people that have applied for the passport already. I'm not overly keen on sending the FBR certificate back to Ireland as there is a good chance it might get lost (and then take forever to get a copy). On the passport purchase email, it says you can send a colour photocopy of it and h...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

A bit late to put this on here but I'm finally an Irish citizen. Application date: 17 Nov 2021 Documents received: 21 Apr 2022 (It took me a couple of months to order a long-form version of my grandparent's birth certificate, at the time I didn't know there was a difference!) Address clarification e...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hi everyone,

It's been a month and I'm still waiting to see if I'm added to the FBR register.

I wondered if the email will from the person who contacted you regarding the address confirmation. Or is it just an auto-generated / templated email?

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Gah. I'm starting to get anxious seeing address confirmations for applications received after mine. Mine was received 21/03/2022... hopefully I won't have too much longer to wait. As a long-time lurker, I have noticed this before. It does seem a bit sporadic as they are supposed to do them in a 'st...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

It probably won't change anything. They will most likely process yours first and then send the docs back or retain them for future use. Applications are processed in strict date order. Some people on here have just purchased duplicate documents in case anything goes wrong. It's a shame you never sen...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Similar to Callanish I received an email saying they had received my documents this week. It seems they are now doing this to stop people hassling them about if they have got the docs. It's also good to have peace of mind that they are there in the right department :D

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hi Everyone, I've only just got around to submitting my documents for an FBA (I realise I have left it so late!). I can see that my documents were delivered yesterday at the PO box office in Dublin. I can see that many people submitted their docs in 2020/2021 and they didn't tell you that they had r...
