Where were you paying your taxes?
It’s a hypothetical scenario I’m exploring for a friend.
Taxes would be paid in the UK.

Remote work —> ILR

Hi guys,

If you were resident in the UK on GTV but worked remotely for overseas company, can you still apply for ILR 3-5 years later even though you have not been working for a UK employer?

Re: How many passports?

Only current passport is necessary if you are proving residence through council tax (only necessary if your passport doesn't get stamped). ILR and citizenship are completely separate processes under different legislation, so requirements are different. Thank you for the reply. My passports are ...

Re: Spouse residence requirements

Thank you both.

It is an important distinction with 3-year and 5-year rules.

Spouse residence requirements

Hi, I obtained ILR through long residence route in 2022. I am currently applying for citizenship. Wife has been on a spouse visa since 2022. As far as I understand there are no specific residence requirements in terms of number of days spent abroad when she applies for the ILR, but we obviously need ...

British national referee longevity

Hi guys, I could not find answer to this question anywhere.
For a British passport holder referee, does it matter how long they have been a British national/passport holder? Can I still use them if they only became a British national themselves just one year ago?

Thank you.

No, it's the same visa whether you have ILR or are British.

What happens to ILR dependent?

Hi guys, I got ILR last summer via 10 year long residence route. My partner who was on skilled worker dependent visa at the time applied and was granted the family visa for 2 years and 9 months. If I applied for citizenship this summer would that mean that my partner would need to reapply for the ...

Biometric and all stamped pages of precious passports.
Does it apply only to passports I have held during the last 10 years or even older ones?
And do I have to scan and upload them myself or can UKVI do that for me?

If you do so, make sure you include a cover letter to specify the 10 year period to be considered.
Thanks a lot. Do I need to include anything else in the cover letter?

I would say it does count assuming you had valid visa during that period outside the UK
Thank you, yes I was on a valid visa throughout the period.
