they asked for scanned copies of passport pages on 21st jun, based on the timeline posts, it should be pretty quick from here, right? is this usually the last step?

I applied in late Jan, but ive seen applications made in early Feb that got decisions today.

I'm asking on behalf of a friend who was dismissed from work in June for gross misconduct (internal matter, conflict with a colleague, no legal/police involved). But he's served 12 years in uk and is eligible for LR application. Will this affect his ILR (LR) application?

I applied for ILR (LR) via standard service in Jan 2022, on 21st Jun, HO emailed me and asked for all scanned copies of passport pages (guess this is the final step?), I'm still waiting for a decision, any idea why it takes so long?
