Re: Tier 4 - Graduate visa

Their Tier 4 visa could only be extended for a new course, not to wait 9 months for the graduation ceremony.

The fine detail of the Graduate Route has not been announced yet, and unlikely to be before next summer, but from what has been published so far your friend seems highly unlikely to qualify.

Re: Switching from Tier 2 to Student Route

My question is, do I need to show bank statement with sufficient fund as maintenance evidence or I can apply to switch to student route visa without showing any maintenance requirements as I am already living in the UK for more than a year as per new rules introduced from 5th of October. The new St...

Re: Tier 4 - Graduate visa

Will this person who is on tier 4 visa be eligible based on previous qualification graduate date sept 2021 but classes ended in sept 2020 and visa expires in January 2021, No. Your friend needs to be in the UK with a Tier 4 or Student visa when the route opens for applications in "summer 2021", exa...

Just to check, is the new student visas point based or non points based??
Good question. It is technically part of the points based system, but as with Tier 4 points cannot be traded.

Officer can easily reject your visa based on the fact that this is not your money.
Exactly. It is not because the applicant is showing too much money, it is because the money does not appear to be "genuinely available" to them.

Re: Maintenance Fund and Fees for Tier 4

One more thing, please avoid showing too much extra money in your account. It doesn't guarantee success of your application. In contrast, it do have some negative impact. I have seen people getting their visas rejected because of showing double the amount required. This is nonsense. The refusal let...

I mean do I have to show £15000 + £9135 or £7500 + £9135? Because University only needs 50% of fees and rest after 6 months.
You are over-thinking it. It is just whatever fees the CAS says are still to be paid.

I meant when you said 'it depends on where you apply'.
You already clarified that you applied in the UK, hence I posted a link to the processing times for leave to remain applications.

Re: Requesting changes to forum titles?

"Student Visas" would definitely be the best title for what is currently the Tier 4 forum. It is both the name of the new route, and it doubles as a generic description so it can include questions about existing Tier 4 visas and about the short-term student route which has never previously had a log...

Re: Requesting changes to forum titles?

Okay thanks. Most changes are not until January anyway, but Tier 4 already changed name on 5 October, so that specific update is urgent.

I don't know which reply you mean, although they are both complete.

Standard processing times for leave to remain applications are published on the Home Office website and easily found via Google.

Requesting changes to forum titles?

Some of the forum titles probably need updating due to Home Office changes or imminent changes, eg. Tier 4 Student Visas are now just Student visas, and Tier 2 is about to become Skilled Worker from January. The long-closed Tier 1 Post Study Work forum should also probably be opened some time soon i...

Re: Number of days Tier 4 Dependants can stay abroad and current timelines

Is there any rule for the number of days dependants of a tier 4 student are allowed to live abroad due to circumstances beyond their control, in our case Covid. No. What are the current timelines like? I submitted my application on Sep 22 for Tier 4 extension with dependants and haven't heard anyth...

Re: request for quick response on visa application

Now, I will need to start spending maintenance funds, as need to pay for accommodation, that too in bulk. How does that effect my financial position once my application starts to get considered? It does not affect it. So for extension visa, I had no document to show my spouse and I lived together. ...

You have a 10-year automatic refusal period.

Re: Emergency Travel- Can I travel to India when my tier 4 application is still in process due to COVID?

If your previous visa has expired, you can't return anyway as you have no proof of the right to enter the UK. And even if your previous visa Tier 2 has not expired, you can only use it to enter the UK to continue your Tier 2 job, which you have presumably now finished. See my reply to the other per...

Re: EMergency Travel-How long can you stay outside the uk on tier 4 visa

1. How long can I stay outside the UK? As long as you wish. Leaving the Common Travel Area with a pending application automatically withdraws that application, so you are not on any specific deadline for coming back. Your university may have a view on how long they will allow you to be away from yo...
