UK Ancestry Visa Holder and Dependant applying for ILR

I am a UK Ancestry BRP holder and will shortly complete 5+ years in the UK. I married an American already living in the UK in 2018 while she was on her Tier 2 Minister of Religion Visa. Immediately after getting married, I renewed my UK Ancestry Visa and at the same time added my wife as a Dependant ...

Prove your knowledge of English for citizenship and settling

I am a South African and have been resident in the UK on multiple Ancestry Visas since 2009. I am preparing to obtain ILR. I have a PhD from Montana State University in the USA and an old NARIC Letter of Comparability from 2009. I am wondering whether I need to obtain a new AQUALS from NARIC to ...

Re: FLR (IR) ancestry dependant application

Just wanting to close off this thread and give some feedback on our experience and success in obtaining my wife's Dependant Visa on my Ancestry Visa. I would recommend that anyone using the FLR(IR) application form to apply as a Dependant Joiner as the spouse of an Ancestry Visa holder, and applying ...

Re: FLR (IR) ancestry dependant application

I have just made the online appointment for my wife at the Premium Service Centre in Birmingham as a Dependant Joiner (to my Ancestry Visa) on FLR(IR). When I was redirected to the IHS payment page, I was only charged £200 whereas I thought I would be charged £1000 because my Ancestry Visa was just r ...

Re: FLR (IR) ancestry dependant application

I was just wondering whether the advice presented by CR001 was correct?

When applying as a Dependant only, does the Dependant apply as the Applicant in Section 1 of FLR(IR)?

And therefore is Section 2 left blank?

Is the cost of this kind of application only £1033 (as of July 2018)?

Thanks for your replies. To Directive/2004/38/EC, thank you for your suggestions. I have contacted the British Consulate in Cape Town where my mother's British passport was issued and have requested a copy of her file. I am awaiting a reply and will post the results of that communique. To JAJ ...

Child of a Rhodesian/UK Citizen Mother Querying UK Passport

I am a South African citizen born in 1976. My mother was born (around 1948) in Zimbabwe (then Rhodesia) where her father (born in the UK around 1918 and holding British citizenship) was stationed with the South African British Police. The family moved to South Africa after my mother's birth where ...
