Re: ILR 'Employer Letter' Issue Date

Correction, I do not see such requirement under the rules now. So as long as you have a letter from your sponsor, you should be good. Make sure just that it is reasonably recent All you need to know about the sponsor letter for Skilled Worker route Thanks very much @zimba for your update on your ...

ILR 'Employer Letter' Issue Date

Hi Forum, Does anyone knows how far in advance (how early) can the employer issue an Employer letter to support ILR application? I read somewhere about letter shouldn't date more than 28 days from application date, but does anyone has applied to ILR and provided employer letter with longer date than ...

Re: Proposed immigration changes 2025 discussion thread - UK set to limit permanent residency for some migrants

Has anyone read this article on gov.uk website? https://www.gov.uk/government/news/immigration-white-paper-to-reduce-migration-and-strengthen-border The article mentions under 'Earned Settlement' that 'further details to be set out to Parliament by the end of the year'. Maybe that means that changes ...

Re: Proposed immigration changes discussion thread - UK set to limit permanent residency for some migrants

To better explain: 'Cohorts' might refer to people who are already in the UK under certain immigration categories (i.e. SWV, Family visa, etc...) and entered the UK within a given timeframe. So people who entered the UK up to a 'certain date' might still be able to apply to ILR under the 5 years ...

Re: Proposed immigration changes discussion thread - UK set to limit permanent residency for some migrants

That is a good observation. However, the phrase,'for those cohorts' implies that some people who are already in the UK, might still be eligible to apply through the 5 years route. To me the word cohort might refer to certain years. As in if you were in the UK up to a 'certain date' you might be able ...

ILR Date first entered UK

Dear Community, I have a question in relation to ILR application. I first entered UK in September 2019 on student visa and then I switched to skilled worker visa in October 2022. On the ILR application, there is the following question:"When did you first enter the UK? This is the date you entered ...

Re: Apply to GTV - Route 1 as a Lecturer

Hi DrUni, Yes, I applied as a lecturer- not a Senior Lecturer, and the only reference to leadership was that 'Dr XXX will direct or lead an individual or team research project or programme of work'. They then went on to list the earlier shared items as part of the role. Hi hope071, Thank you very ...

Re: Apply to GTV - Route 1 as a Lecturer

Hello Dr Uni, The endorsing body was BA, and applied as an exceptional promise. It was submitted as a standard application, and I know people that even got stage 2 decisions faster than myself. In terms of specifics, the HR listed the following: Dr XXX is expected to dedicate 40% of work to ...

And final point is I might switch to a new employer only having been on one year of Skilled worker Visa so I wouldn't have completed the full three years with the old employer.
