Re: How long does it take to get the first time passport application?

Looks like sending a complain worked: My passport book is now printing. 2 months 1 week 5 days since sending my application.

Now to wait for the tracker to update and for them to send me the passport.

Just in time for my flight on Friday!

Re: How long does it take to get the first time passport application?

Had a slightly useful call with the passport office around the delay in my application. The only notes she can see is that they have asked "an embassy" to verify the birth certificate and are waiting on a reply. Didn't say if it was an Irish embassy that serves my home country or my home country's ...

Re: How long does it take to get the first time passport application?

I'm an Ireland-based naturalisation applicant and I'm 16 days over the estimated issue date with no updates and no support from customer service. Seeing on Reddit an FBR application from Jan 31st got the passport printed on March 24th. Another one is a Feb 5th application and went printing on March ...

Re: How long does it take to get the first time passport application?

10 days after the estimated issue date and no update. The chat and calls just say an agent has been assigned to my application but they can’t comment on anything or escalate it further.

Feels endless and pointless.

Re: How long does it take to get the first time passport application?

My passport issue date is tomorrow but still no updates or changes from "Your application is being processed". It's been 12 days since the last update :( Estimated issue date was the 11th and still waiting for an update. Called on the 12th, got told they would assign it as urgent and should hear by ...

Re: How long does it take to get the first time passport application?

So I guess my passport will now be delayed :( Got an email saying that I need to submit a new birth certificate that has my parents details on it, and that the one I sent it obsolete. I went to check and yes, Panama issues a new design of birth certificates but the content is the same. The one I ...

December 2024 Citizenship Ceremonies Naturalisation Certificates

I know ceremonies happened only a few days ago, but probably worth opening a topic around the December 2024 ceremony certificates so people can discuss.

Re: Upcoming Ceremony in 2023/4

Can't complain about the (online) process. I feel very lucky that my citizenship took 12 months from application to ceremony, instead of the official 19 months to even get approval. Applied Date: 11/12/2023 Approval: 01/07/2024 Date of Ceremony: 02/12/2024 A long trek from Belfast but sure worth it!

Re: (Northern) Irish Naturalisation - UK Indefinite Leave to Remain

The Irish Nationality and Citizenship Act has a section called "Revocation of certificates of naturalisation" and it clearly states that getting another citizenship after the Irish one is grounds for getting your Irish citizenship revoked. ---- Revocation of certificates of naturalisation 19.—(1) ...

Re: Upcoming Ceremony in 2023/4

The wait begins for the December ceremony dates to be confirmed! 2-5 December the Convention Centre Dublin is already booked for something else. 9-11 are the only dates in December that the Killarney Convention Centre doesn't have anything on their schedule. So 9-11 December in either Dublin or ...

I realise this hasn't been released yet, but would any of you have a rough idea of when the next citizenship ceremonies might take place?
In a May email they said they hope to have ceremonies in September and December.

Re: Citizenship Application: NI resident, what happens after DAT1 / PSNI clearance?

Just to add my two cents here. On the 19th I received an email asking me to complete the Garda vetting. On the 23rd we told them that I shouldn't do it as I'm NI based. On the 25th they replied saying that it's true, I should not do the Garda vetting and my application will be furthered processed ...

Re: Citizenship Application: NI resident, what happens after DAT1 / PSNI clearance?

Just a side note on this topic, as I also live in NI. The Irish Citizenship Law makes it clear that Irish citizenship can be revoked if the person also gets citizenship by naturalisation in another country. Does this actually happen? How can it affect someone that hasn’t received an approval for the ...
