London or Birmingham?

I live in Leicester and would like to know if I can apply for OCI Card in London or in Birmingham? Is it compulsory that I only apply in my jurisdiction i.e. Birmingham, or can I apply anywhere? Also I would like to know which one is better for postal application?

Generally from the date you entered the country. But in your case as you switched from student visa to HSMP, it should be the date HSMP was granted.

WRT Tier 2 I am not sure as I was in Tier 1. From the forum and the rules it looks like you have to match the SOC code closest to you based on your job designation and tasks. But however senior members can comment.

Hi Haiammu,

WRT Name do not worry for mix up. It is not an issue as I also had the same problem. But however, to be safe, please get a letter from your employer that your name has been spelt as so and so in the documents and that person and yourself are one and the same.

Cheers,

Thanks sushdmehta for your reply. So, to summarise, you are telling that I should be fine with my case as long as I score the minimum 75 or 80 points as the case for me. Is this right?

Thank you Prince.

I have read all the rules in detail today as well as Case Workers Guides given in the UKBA site. It does not say anywhere about this.

So, I too presume it should be fine. Keeping fingers crossed!!!
