The problem is UK immigration will not see it as such and query the different DOB's in the old passport (one with the ILR stamp) and new passport and refuse entry even though she has been in the UK over 50 years.

My mum is in the process of renewing her Indian passport as hers is not machine readable which has to be done by Nov 2015 according to consulate. You will need the police report.

Somewhere on the CGI website it does say you may need an interview at the consulate.

Had a look at a notice pinned up in the Birmingham Consulate today and it stated it can take ten working days for the OCI and passport to arrive.

On the website it says it can take 7 working days not including the time taken to actually mail the documents.

Certainly at the Birmingham Mission they stated they would not release the

I think as mentioned earlier due to biological changes during these periods the renewal is required, just a transfer of visa will not be valid but a full check will be required again hence a full price (whatever it may be at the time!!!!).. Has anyone any experience of submtting passport at Birmingham vfs for oci?

My query relates to what time you have to go to Jewelry Quarter to submit your British passport and how many tokens are issued and the general experience?

At the oci web site it states you have to submit the original surrender certificate?

Does anyone know whether this is the case? Or it ok to hand in a copy when applying in person?
