Re: British Citizenship ceremony photography

Council staff were fine with people taking their own photos and did not stop anyone from doing so. The private photographer (who was not a member of the council staff) was the one policing people's phones and has now taken the photos hostage, charging extortion of £50 for two soft copies. £25 per p ...

Passport applications: countersignatures

Hello,

Apologies if this has been asked before but can I kindly check if it would be okay if I used the same two referees I had for my naturalisation application as passport countersignatures when it comes to applying for first UK passport?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Re: Tax - Naturalization

Thanks svy, I eventually managed to reach HMRC (wasn't sure if it was the correct branch as they picked up after 6PM, and they close at 6PM), but the lady on the phone was super understanding and guaranteed she couldn't see any fines or penalty notices issued, ever, on my name, so I guess that's all ...

Re: Tax - Naturalization

Thank you for the advice, but before contacting UKVI, I want to double check with HMRC themselves first if there was ever a case of a fine being issued. Secondly, what is the best email I can reach UKVI on? I don't want to risk emailing them in case it was never a big issue and was just a case of me ...

Re: Tax - Naturalization

I have been trying to reach them all day today but have been in the office, so no luck as of yet.

I have already submitted my application/biometrics, etc. so unsure if there is any way I can disclose this information.

Hoping to get through today or tomorrow.

Re: Tax - Naturalization

I posted about something similar happening to me a while ago. Though I never had a penalty. It was a bit over 1k I had to pay back to HMRC. Similarly to you, I've been always employed full-time, and briefly took a freelance contract when I was in between moving house (things were hectic, so I ...

Re: UKVCAS appointment

Just a quick update to say my appointment went well, rocked up 30 mins earlier and just went straight in, the staff were super friendly and helpful. The only issue I encountered is that one of my documents didn't upload properly as the lady said she couldn't find it so we had to go through my list ...

Re: UKVCAS appointment

Hi alterhase58, Point taken, apologies, long day and I think I panicked, but will keep that in mind. I absolutely do not recollect receiving a fine, so that's what's reassuring me but think I've panicked as my appointment is tomorrow... just hoping it all goes well in the end. Thanks for the ...

HMRC / Citizenship question

Hi guys, My biometrics appointment is coming up tomorrow... and in a typical last-minute fashion, I *just stumbled upon* an old email as I was double checking some documents. This is going to sound very stupid, and I'm probably way overthinking this, but here we go. Back in the end 2021 I had to pay ...

Re: UKVCAS appointment

Lastly, would you recommend brining all my supporting documents in hard copy or do I just double check and make sure my files are visible/uploaded correctly prior my appointment? I keep seeing people saying they bring copies of their files but that sounds like a bit too much? I do have a back-up USB ...

Re: UKVCAS appointment

Hi alterhase58,

Thank you for the reply.

Yes, you're correct, but don't they also double check if the uploaded supporting documents are okay, there are no issues, etc.?

They then submit those once my biometrics are taken, or am I wrong in thinking that?

UKVCAS appointment

Hi, I've passed the LITUK test and very recently submitted my naturalisation application. I'm due to attend my UKVCAS biometrics appointment in London later this week. So far I've got the following supporting documents uploaded, ready for my appointment: - Scanned all pages of my current EU passport ...
