urgent treatment

I have been told by the HO that whilst they do not discourage people to send in requests for urgent treatments, HO is not looking at them as matter of priority. This is due to an extraordinary number of urgent treatment requests which have become a norm, rather than exception, as they used to be. HO...

You certainly won't lose anything by trying to submit an urgent treatment request. However, you need to be aware that HO is not really taking urgent requests as exceptional cases due to an overwhelming number of such. So, now it is purely a matter of luck if your urgent request gets noticed and acte...

London life

Hi, London life is very expensive and yes, it is mostly the IT and Investment banking job that allow for a life with little or no limits in London. The economy is in a very bad shape here as well as in the States. Living everything and everyone you know and starting anew is a scary thing. I think yo...

complicated, indeed

Hi and sorry about your situation. It is complicated, indeed. I believe you are correct about the 28 days rule. You may be best off by calling the Home Office and asking them for advise, without giving your name and other data out. Another way is to consult an immigration consultant, maybe not the a...

sending in passport

You send your passport in together with Tier 1 application and all the other supporting documentation. Be ready to be without passport for about 2 months, maybe more. I was told yesterday that Urgent treatments are treated as requests only and just because a personsends one it does not mean they wou...

Mailing of additional documents

Hi bkarthikisc, I was told to send the documents to Sheffield. Again, it looks like best option is to catch that WINDOW between case getting onto the system and case being assigned a caseworker. I am planning to send one set of statements now and one to aim for the window in the timeline. Hopefully ...

Duplicate Statements

I am applying within the UK for Tier 1 and I am also an HSBC customer. My funds for maintenance requirement are in my HSBC savings account, which does not normally produce statements. I had HSBC branch print the history of account (since January 2008), on HSBC paper and it says on top Duplicate stat...

When to send additional documents

Having spoken to 3 different people from Tier 1 customer service office I can now say that if anyone needs to send in additional documentation, the best time is between the day when your case is entered on the system and before it is assigned to a caseworker. I was explained that this period is abou...

Additional documents for Tier 1

Thank you for replies. I have faxed a note to Home Office indicating my assigned reference number and stating that additional documents would be forthcoming by special delivery within 5 business days and that I am asking to hold my case before they arrive. I plan to send a set of documents early nex...

Additional documents sent for Tier 1 application

I applied to switch to Tier 1 with a valid HSMP letter within the UK. Not sure what daft moment I have been having then, but I misread the requirement for maintenance and only sent in my current account statements, where the balance at end of month was always 800 pounds, but NOT at ANY TIME during t...
