How difficult will it be for you to convert your wife's account into a joint account and getting a letter from the bank to state that this is a joint account with XYZ funds maintained for last 3 months ??? I am in UK since April 2007 on a work permit which is valid until 13th September 2008. Unless your employer is intending to send you back to India, why not let the employer renew your WP and you extend your leave to remain in UK on that basis.
