Re: Are there any 2022 Citizenship Applicants still waiting?

Thank you htwhtg. I don't know if the forum will permit me to post the direct link to the recently clarified guidelines for association/descent applicantions, but here it is: https://www.irishimmigration.ie/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/Irish-Association-wording-31032005.pdf For those applicants ...

A lot of 2022 applicants are still waiting. I've even heard some from 2021 are waiting.
These aren't necessarily complex cases (e.g. years stamp 1+4 on CSEP, no convictions or immigration issues in past).

Re: Are there any 2022 Citizenship Applicants still waiting?

Congratulations on your new Irish citizenship! Thanks for sharing your story - it gives one hope! I was a April 2022 also, techncially invited to ceremony last December but delayed it and did the one now in Feb. I can't speak for your case, but I had used a lawyer so they wrote to them and they ...

Re: Are there any 2022 Citizenship Applicants still waiting?

That's some story! Congratulations on your new Irish citizenship! I applied in May 22 and just did my ceremony last month. Completed vetting for the first time in Oct 23, again in summer 24 because they'd let the first one expire. They promised in the email to then proceed 'as a priority' then went ...

Re: Are there any 2022 Citizenship Applicants still waiting?

Thanks htwhtg... The original 2022 timeline forum was closed for inactivity, which leads me to believe that most, if not all have received their decision and yet here I am still out here languishing! Good to know there are still others out there from 2021 & 2022! Best wishes for YOU and that we both ...

Are there any 2022 Citizenship Applicants still waiting?

I am a June 2022 on-paper citizenship applicant, and am wondering if there is anyone left besides me!!?? The new online portal still shows "Application in Process", but the last modified date still shows the day and time that I registered for the portal, November 22, 2024. That tells me that nobody ...

Re: Approval letter

I am a June 2022 paper applicant. My online profile still shows as "application in progress" (which I used to think was a good thing...!) But the date has not changed since I enrolled in the online portal, Nov 22, 2024. Tells me that most likely *NOTHING* has been done, nor has *ANYONE* even picked ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hello all, I apologise in advance for asking a question that I'm certain has been asked 100 times already, but I didn't feel like reading through the previous 311 pages on this thread!! So here's my question. How can I check to see if a now deceased relative had been placed on the FBR at the time ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

How can I check to see if a now deceased relative had been placed on the FBR at the time of their birth? Is there a link where I can do a search? many thanks in advance. Contacting the DFA to see if said person was registered in the FBR seems like the only option. I have read before people can ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I had the same issue. I had an international trip planned in April 2024 and my passport was set to expire in July 2024. Most countries require that your passport be valid for 6 months after entry into their country, which meant that I had no choice but to renew my passport. I got a copy of my new ...

Re: Approval letter

thank you peace23. I was happy to see this communication from the Minister's office. I'm a 2022 "paper" applicant who is still awaiting a decision, so based on the Minister's reply, there are still about 1800 of us left to be processed from 2022 and earlier. Good to know, thanks very much for ...

Fred13 LOST paper docs? I applied in June 2022 and am still waiting myself with only these contacts from the Minister's office: February 2023 - acknowledgement of receipt of application, February 2024 - a request for an updated Police report from my home country. I applied also in 2022, and have only heard from INIS twice. 1st time was 6 months after my application was submitted to advise that they had received my application, and the 2nd time was February 2024, 18 months after I submitted my application requesting a refreshed Police report from my home ...

yes indeed! I think it's a good sign. If they were going to deny my request, I'm guessing they would have made that determination and I would have heard back much, much sooner than this. So I'm HOPEFUL that this is a good sign that they're seriously considering my citizenship request! Fingers ...

Re: Approval letter

Hi Peace23 - Don't despair. I applied on Sept 7, 2022 and have not received an acceptance letter as yet either. Will be 2 complete years in another week or so. My application and supporting docs were all on paper, and there was quite a bit of it, so I suspect that is what is taking so long. Last ...
