Re: Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI)

Get it fixed as soon as possible. The rules are very clear that the OCI card must be updated each time a new passport is issued for people under 20. With regards to the E-visa, best to consult the High Commission to get their verdict in writing about which alternate visa category you can apply unde...

Re: Child pasport renewed - no time to renew OCI - urgent travel

Then on one Indian conslate website it says if you must travel just carry acknowledgement of renewal, old passport, new passport, and OCI. I only have a week at this point so I plan to travel with those 4 documents and renew it when I get back. Thanks for the update! Which website was this? If you ...

Re: Child pasport renewed - no time to renew OCI - urgent travel

Can someone guide me please, I need to travel on 15th Dec and my 12 year old son has OCI linked to old UK passport. We don't have enough time to get the OCI re-issued to his new UK passport. Last year, In Dec 2018 we travelled to India with the new & old passport and OCI booklet and were not asked a...

Re: Child pasport renewed - no time to renew OCI - urgent travel

Yes, conflicting information. Spoke to various people at HCI London & VFS UK, and conflicting information each time. Everyone I spoke to gave different information than the previous person. This is what I have been told - - No regular visa or e-visa can be issued to the active OCI card holder. So do...

Re: Child pasport renewed - no time to renew OCI - urgent travel

I am the OP for this thread. Very sorry for not getting back. I can now share my experience - we flew with Air India to Ahmedabad in Dec 2018. For my child, I carried both new and old(cancelled) UK passports. The old passport had the OCI U visa sticker. There were no questions asked at the Air India...

Child pasport renewed - no time to renew OCI - urgent travel

I renewed my child's British passport a few months ago, but was not aware of the new rules regarding mandatory renewal of OCI card if new passport is issued (under 18 yrs of age). I need to travel to India urgently this month following some medical issues my spouse is having. I have realised that du...

Re: IT Contractor Moving to Permanent, In-Laws & Parents Vis

To add to the complexity, my sister and brother-in-law also wish to visit this summer (again in a separate 2 week window).

So, I will now need to sponsor 3 different parties (for different visit windows). Will this be an issue?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Re: OCI

Thank you very much for your help What is the photo specification, they say 51*51 so it is 2*2 inch right? Yes, that is correct. Use the link I gave earlier and it should generate the photo in the exact size as required. Remember to get it printed in 4x6 size otherwise the image will get scaled acc...

This problem was still there when I did the forms last week. I filled a new form just to check if I had made a mistake while entering details for my wife and have taken screenshots at each stage. However, the problem is very much there, the previous name field comes as blank (even though this was fi...

For the photo I would suggest to use the link: http://www.epassportphoto.com/Wizard.aspx?country=IN&photo=1 and generate a 4x6 photo slide for you print at any shop. From my experience I would advice NOT using ASDA or TESCO photo print facility to print it as the print quality is very poor and dark....

Hi All, I have a strange problem, I successfully submitted the form by uploading a photo however, the actual hard print of the photo doesnt match the standards as it appears to be a white background. I'm sorry, I assumed you are doing it in person at one of the VFS centers in London.

I went to VFS in person and surrendered the passports for 3 of my family members and paid nearly 375 GBP for the privilege.

I assume our cancelled indian passport and an A4 sized surrender certificate page. Is this correct?
Correct!!

And you do get a debit/credit card charge slip for the hefty passport surrender fee.

So, I have been using the GBRLI####### file reference numbers on the reprint page. Are the numerals, after CANTI and GBRLI same? If yes, I can try substituting CANTI inplac...
