Re: Non EU Join Family Visa (Irish Spouse)

I don’t have any experience of this particular stream but what I would say is that an internet search on delay times is likely to lead to a pessimistic result. For example, naturalisation is said (if you google it) to take an average of 19 months but this figure pre-dates the new on-line process w ...

Re: Status reverted and no invite for ceremony received

I believe that ceremonies are more frequent now than they were in 2023 as well. They seem to be at least every couple of months. I responded to my invitation within 30 minutes of receiving it - just because I was sat at my computer at the time. I am thankful that I was given your story. I am sure ...

Re: Naturalisation Stuck at Garda Vetting

This might be explained by delays in An Garda Siochána obtaining clearance from certain countries in which you have lived. Its a pity that there are no intermediate updates provided because you might feel easier if you knew that your application had not been lost down the back of the filing cabinet. ...

Re: Irish spouse visa - Tunisian applicant questions

Ireland's diplomatic representation in Tunisia is through an Honorary Consulate in Tunis, which can provide consular services, including visa support. The embassy that covers Tunisia is the Embassy of Ireland in Madrid, Spain: Honorary Consulate of Ireland in Tunis Address: Immeuble Raphael 2ème ...

Re: Police Clearance Certificate for Irish Naturalisation from Northern Ireland

As far as I am aware the ACRO police certificate covers UK and Crown Dependencies (ie Channel Islands and Isle of Man). The UK is better defined as "The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland" and so NI should be covered. Its a different legal jurisdiction right enough but the same ...

Re: Northern Ireland (spouse) naturalisation

I cannot advise you on that - the fee is the same for sure. The residence position would be met in Ireland but can a person who is resident in NI under an ILR qualify for residence on his or her own? I cannot answer that (its almost certainly in the documentation. There is a clear path for a spouse ...

Re: Northern Ireland (spouse) naturalisation

Its a bit more complicated than that in my experience although I am still going through the on-line process as a UK spouse of an Irish citizen living in Ireland. As far as I can tell the new on-line process is far simpler than the previous largely paper process: You will also have to provide ...

Re: Name variation(s) D.O.B

You mention three forenames in your post - is that right? Katherine and Catherine are both the same in translation from Irish as Caitríona. Kathleen translates from Caitlín. Were the names anglicised from the Irish? If so that may explain some of the differences. It is common for names from certain l ...

Re: Non-EEA Sponsor Bank Statements ?

On the face of it that does appear to be more onerous than the naturalisation (marriage to an Irish citizen) requirements that I am looking at. It appears to be asking for explanation rather than just statements per se - so annotated with e.g. Salary A, Salary B, Rent, Car, Childcare etc to ensure ...

I think that is not quite right. The case of Jones comes to mind: https://www.asylumlawdatabase.eu/en/content/ireland-court-appeal-overturns-ruling-residence-requirement-citizenship Following which the 70 days soft-limit was introduced by the Minister whereby fewer than 70 days' absence do not ...

Re: Non-EEA Sponsor Bank Statements ?

I can't be certain that my circumstances match yours but for a naturalisation application the statements _can_ be electronic/pdf as they have in any event to be scanned in to a PDF file and filed electronically. I just took the pdfs from the banks etc plus some scanned other documents and combined ...

eVetting query…

I’ve read the FAQs etc on this point.
