Re: How to pass Life in the UK test first time

Thanks for your advice. Only one complaint about the website you've mentioned. It requires too many clicks to navigate the practice tests. Are there any other good sites that you/anyone recommend? There are plenty and that's why the confusion.

What was the number you contacted for BRP Error correction? Mine has a typo in place of birth. They missed the letter A. I don't think this really matters. I guess you always have the option to contact UKBA for such issues. I spoke to UKBA and they said that it's essential to correct this error. It ...

Thanks a lot. I still have not received an explanation from UKBA on what went wrong. Either it must have been inside UKBA & someone's tracking number must have been provided to me by mistake. It was nearly a month of peace-less mind finally has come to an end, a good end indeed. We tried too many op...

So far my attempts to reach them for a status on this were unsuccessful. Their customer support just hangs up saying that they are all busy and call later. I am trying daily. Is there a 20 days response time as part of their service standards? I don't know where I read it, but can't find it.

Hello Greenie, Royal mail says it can not reveal who it was sent and which address it was sent to since I am not the sender. They asked me to contact UKBA since they are the sender. UKBA hasn't got back yet. Their customer support says they don't have the address to which it sent to since it is not ...

@rpsarangi:
Hello,
Thanks for the response.
If we apply for duplicate passports before UKBA confirm that our passports are lost, can I still apply for claims for hardship?
Btw, I don't have any travel plans at least for another 6 months.

UKBA lost our passports. What to do?

Hello Everyone, I need some expert advice on my options. - Applied for Tier 1 G extension in Jan mid (main applicant & 2 dependents) - Received all 3 Biometric Residence Permit cards on 25-May with validity for 2 years - Passports & other docs not received - I contacted UKBA on 28-May and was given ...

UKBA's online booking system is clearly discriminating against family applicants. I would suggest everyone affected to send out a tough complaint letter/email to UKBACustomerComplaints@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk. If 3 individual applicants can get appointment, why can't they combine 3 5-minute slots to a...

Hi Tekkie,
That is not a problem. Our circumstances can change over-time. When you applied you may plan to bring your deps after 1yr. Later change your mind and bring them in 3 months.

Hi Sathish,
Definitely no offence taken. In fact, you're right in mentioning that his dependants can apply after 2 months. Most of the dependant visa processing in done within a week. If the delay in applying is only due to housing proof, that's what I've mentioned as it is not a mandatory evidence.

I guess this will be an excellent topic for an investigative reporter to uncover the nasty "legal" robbery in countries where more people apply for UK Visas and in countries where people are immigration literate to prepare their own applications. This may explain why UKBA cust service in USA is much...

Hi Tekkie, 1) If you're in UK, applying main applicant and dependants together is cheaper than dependants applying later. So it makes sense to apply together (provided you have maintenance proof). Seeing how you've calculated maintenance funds, I assume you're outside UK, then answer is Yes. You ca ...
