Re: Arrived into UK 3 months after start of ancestry visa

My situation seems to be similar. I have receieved a text notification that my ILR (from an Ancestry Visa) has been granted. However I still haven't received the BRP in the post. Am I correct in understanding that I can travel before I receive the BRP and enter as explained here using my NZ passport...

Re: ILR (from Tier 1 General) Checklist

Hello Guys, It is the time for me now to apply for ILR in a couple of days. I appreciate if you can add any missing documents or suggest any tips before I go for PEO appointment. 1. Completed ILR SET(O) application 2. Two Passport size photograhs (with name on the back side) 3. Current Passport + B...

Re: IDR shortfall - must be widespread

I'm in the same situation (as I would think are many people). My original Tier 1 (General) visa was granted on Feb 03 2009 and expires Feb 03 2012. In the best scenario the 2 year extension would be given until Feb 03 2014. However, since I only arrived in the UK on March 14 2009 I will not have be...

IDR shortfall - must be widespread

However, If i go by my actual expiry date of Dec 2011 and get a 2 year extension till Dec 2013, I will still be short of 45 days !! from settlement as I came to UK after 45 days of getting the VISA and I am not sure if i will be required to re-apply in that case as well or not. I'm in the same situ...

And just in case any further confirmation is needed, I just received this:

Dear Applicant,

We are accepting CDs if they are accesssible. You should send a letter stating they are accessible from the financial institution.

In reponse to my own question above: I just finally got through to the Work Permit Contact Centre in the UK and they advised me that YES fixed deposits are accepted with the letter from the bank confirming that they can be liquidated. Actually the person I spoke with was unsure about it but went thr...

@rajesh9pl There still seems to be some difference of opinion on the forums about this - whether fixed deposits are accepted as maintenance funds. Are you (or anyone else) 100% sure that they are accepted when there is a letter from the bank confirming that it can be liquidated any time. In my case ...

Previous earnings: country they are earned in

I am an independent contractor and have been living in Panama during the period I am claiming previous earnings for. All of my contracting work has been for a UK company. Payments have been made to my accounts in NZ and Panama (I don´t have an account in the UK) and I am a Panama tax resident. I ju...

It says on the UKBA website that if the applicant has not yet graduated they must provide an academic transcript and academic reference as supporting evidence. It says that "The original academic reference from the institution awarding the degree must be on official headed paper of the institution a...
