Re: Questions regarding Naturalisation

Hi,

Just a follow up question - can you please confirm if the below is right test for naturalisation:

IELTS Life Skills B1

The test is being conducted by British Council Birmingham and they are charging a test fee of £150.

Thanks

Re: Questions regarding Naturalisation

Thanks for your reply.

She passed the Life in the UK test in 2012 which was a requirement for getting ILR at that time, I think.

Would she need to take the life in the UK test again?

Questions regarding Naturalisation

Hi All, I came to UK in 2007 on HSMP visa (later on converted to Tier1 General). I got ILR in 2012 and the citizenship in 2013. My wife got ILR with me in 2012 but could not apply for naturalisation because she did not meet the residence requirement. Now she has been living in the UK for last three ...

Re: British citizen wants to bring his spouse to UK

So, which option is preferable in your opinion: marry in France and then apply the UK visa or apply the UK visa and then marry in UK?

What are the timelines for the above two options?
Please advise me about required documents as well.
Thanks

British citizen wants to bring his spouse to UK

Hi,

One of my friend is a British citizen and have a girl friend in France and visits her every month or so.
He wants to marry her and also wants to bring her to UK. Should they marry in France and then apply for her visa from France? Please advise what's the best way/route?
Thanks

Carrying mother's passport

Hi All, I am a British citizen and my mum is dependent on me and lives with me in UK. She intends to travel to Iran shortly and needs the Iranian visa. The Iranian embassy in Dublin deals with applicants from UK at the moment. Would it be OK and legal if I carry my mother's visa application and pass...

Re: Travelling from Dublin to UK

Hi CR001,

Thanks for your reply. She does not have Irish visa but definitely has UK ILR stamp in her passport. So, according to your reply, I assume this is enough for her to fly from Dublin to UK. I also assume that the airline in Dublin won't be verifying if she has visa for Ireland or not?

Thx

Timeline for Visa Stamp

Hi All, I am a British citizen working in Ireland. My mother got 6 months temporary stamp and GNIB card in January 2015. The letter in January said that the 5 years visa would be decided/issued in 6 months time. I haven't heard anything yet and its almost end of May. Has anyone else experienced the ...

Re: EU1 - 6 weeks & waiting for ack

After you get the letter offering the 6 months stamp, you have to head down to the GNIB with that letter, both passports (eea and non-eea nationals) and proof of marriage (marriage certificate). You just have to go to counter 15 (the last counter - I could have mucked up the number), show the lette...

Re: EU1 - 6 weeks & waiting for ack

I am in the similar situation. I sent my mother's application with her and mine passports on 4th December. I was worrying too but after seeing your posts it sounds that they are having a backlog of applications. Unfortunately, the process would have been further delayed due to Christmas holidays.

Re: Where to Submit the Visa Application

I spoke to one of the solicitors and they confirmed with department of justice in Dublin about where to submit the application? They said if the applicant is on a short term visa in the UK, then the application must be submitted to Karachi Consulate. So, applying from UK doesn't seem to be an option...

Hi Kuruvi,

Did you apply under old or new rules? 10 months is a very long period. Did you try to contact the home office or the embassy to expedite the case?
