Re: british citizenship inquiry

Asdf45, First of all the advise that you get on this forum is free. You are not paying for it. People are trying to help you. So stop being rude to the people who are trying to help you. Secondly, you have not provided all the details in your opening post. Also you have not mentioned under which rou...

Re: Applying for UK citizenship - future intentions condition

Worst case they may even cancel your ILR if you travel abroad for work. There have been cases where people were naturalised and travelled abroad for work & their first passport applications were rejected. please go through this thread: https://www.immigrationboards.com/british-citizenship/hmpo-quest...

Looks like the passports were sent erroneously then.. They can not issue a passport without citizenship ceremony.

Did you apply for the passport without naturalisation certificate? firt passport is usually issued after conducting an identity check interview. Where did you attend the interview?

Re: HMPO questions Naturalisation Status withdraws passport application

Yes that's correct. You should apply for your first passport from the UK and if they question you on your work situation in India - you could justify it by saying India doesn't let people surrender their citizenship till you produce a passport of the naturalised country. Ideally they should allow pe...

Re: HMPO questions Naturalisation Status withdraws passport application

In my opinion the passport was delayed because in your application for the first passport you mentioned your employer in India Not sure if you were on the UK or Indian payroll. If you were on Indian payroll - then it was illegal for you to work there as you did not have work authorisation in India. ...

Belgian Health Insurance for a British Citizen

Hi there, I'm a British Citizen planning to move to Belgium in few days. I'm an IT professional and I'm intending to look for a contract job there. My status would be 'Unemployed' when I move there, so I'm not sure how to access healthcare services in case of my emergency. Is it possible to get heal...

Entry Visa and NOT Tourist visa for visiting India

Hi All, Just thought of sharing this information here as most of us do not know this (even the VFS site doesn't have correct information). If you are recently naturalised as a British/Foreign citizen and held Indian nationality before AND have a need to visit India (without OCI), the only ways is to...

OCI card send via courier - Is it Illegal?

Hi there, I'm going to India next week on 'Entry Visa'. I'm thinking of submitting OCI application at the local passport office there. Just want to know if my brother collects it for me when it's ready and sends it to me (to my European address) via courier, would I be breaking any law? Is it illega...

OCI from EU country (outside the UK)

Hi there, I was wondering if it is possible to apply for OCI from a country other than the UK or India for a British Citizen? I might move to Switzerland or Belgium soon. I do not have any intentions of returning back to the UK soon. Was wondering if I could apply for OCI from there? I recently went...

Re: British citizen but travel on Indian passport

Yes i applied yesterday. I think there is no connection between my passport and oci application. Only original surrender certificate sent. And the fine is only at the surrender time. - Also worth to note ask them to opt out for sms otherwise they will add by default for useless tracking sms. i did ...

Re: British citizen but travel on Indian passport

I think if you have not surrendered your passport then you can use it, you will have to pay penalty when you go for surrender. Did you travelled to india on indian passport? If yes then just travel back on same and don't mention about your british passport at the immigration in india. when you come...
