Re: Problem with new renunciation cert requirement for OCI application

Hi Kundan, please let us also know how you circumvent this situation.

My wife is in the same situation. Only surrender cert and no renunciation cert. Seems like a new requirement put in place only for collecting more monies.

Re: Maintenance funds for Student Visa

tl;dr Your nephew can get dedicated professional advice on his visa application from the international student advice team at the University of Manchester. That's their job and their expertise. That is far more sensible than his aunt's husband crowdsourcing visa advice from random strangers on a on...

Maintenance funds for Student Visa

Hi all, 2 questions: 1) How long should the maintenance fund be maintained prior to the date of visa application? 2) Is it enough if the bank provide a letter stating that the funds required for maintenance (£1023 x 9) has been approved, letter dated 28 days (or 2 months) prior to date of applicatio...

Re: Urgent travel to India when OCI application is in progress

Thank you @dontrngthebell. From a quick search, I found oci.edinburgh@mea.gov.in. So have written to them as a matter of urgency. If no response I will write to HCI, London.

Re: Urgent travel to India when OCI application is in progress

Thanks for the quick response @rainbowbutterfly and @dontringthebell. I submitted my application at the VFS office in Edinburgh and did not receive such an e-mail from helpdesk-oci@nic.in. I am sure there is an equivalent with which I shall make contact. Also, per the suggestion of @dontringthebell,...

Re: OCI application experience - Edinburgh

Update:
I received my original British passport back on Friday last week, which is not bad, considering I had submitted the application on Monday last week.

Now to wait for the OCI to arrive within the next 3 to 4 weeks' time.

Made an error while providing a reference for UK passport renewal

Spend some time here To answer your questions, 1. The Tier 1 route is closed now, but only you could apply for the Tier 1 in the past or have an agent do it for you. 2. Now there is the Tier 2 route for which you must have at job offer in hand in prior and the employer must be willing to sponsor you...

@ tier1gnrl, I understand your anxiety. Do not worry. They cannot stop your entry and it's perfectly legal to come in with 2 months left on your visa and look out for a job, while applying for your extension (which is Tier1 general in this case). If they ask if you have a job, tell them about the gr...
