Hi, No you just show them your British Passport at the time of application but they won't take it away from you. Those whose PBS dependant visas were granted after 9 July 2012 need to complete five years in the UK and can amalgamate their PBS leave together with any time spent under FLR(M) to make up the five years before applying for ILR. If your wife is completing 2 years as a dependant on the current visa, in my opinion best economical way for you to do is apply via PBS extension, as she will get 3 years extension ,which will get her through the ILR. Initial Tier-1 issue date: 21/09/2008 Date of Entry :12/10/2008 Validity of Tier-1 : 04/10/2013.
