Fantastic news-maybe this will encourage 'communities' to actually intergrate into society if there is no longer the 'language barrier' some face because of the fact they move over in particular as a spouse, look for a job in their local community and settle into a way of life that caters for that b...

Oh that's a shame. I was hoping to learn by example for when we apply for my father-in-laws visit. We won't be applying yet but still thought it would be worth gaining knowledge on the application process

This may sound like a very silly question...

..but I am asking on behalf of a distant family member . If someone is in the UK on a student visa must they stick to that institute throughout their education or can they transfer to another college or university. The person in question has a 16 month visa and the course will be completed wit...

Hi Sham, a letter explaining now big the house is, and that your brother and his mrs will have access to at least one room (bedroom) from your mum should be enough. If the council is willing to give you a letter that would be good too. The letter my mum provided me confirmed that she was a tenant, a...

Azim, are we talking about when someone enters the UK? If so, two people who recently entered the UK were asked simple questions that anyone would be able to answer e.g. who has come to the airport to collect you, how was your flight, how do you like the weather so far...and the list could go on. HTH

Hi Sham, when we applied for my husbands visa we were also in rented accomadation, my mother was in reciept of benefits however as I was living with mum I paid the majority of rent (due to my wages) and also paid my own council tax. I also paid bills, and proved all this via my bank statements-bills...

We applied for the other half's ILR back in August. Payment was taken out within 10 days.

We got a letter at the beginning of October asking for some further documents which we sent off.

Now waiting for them to get back to us.

If your Mrs is self-employed, you'd submit the right paperwork for that-e.g. her bank statements (from the business) accounts (I'd get them glanced over by an accountant if she does her own accounts too) and she'd have N.I. contribution statements. Being self employed myself I must add that you shou...

Haroon,

just to echo what Danbrix put, your best bet is the Home Office website.

Also, I'd start looking for documentation/bills etc in your wifes name/joint names etc as that's one of the 'biggies' in my personal experience.

Good Luck.

Hi B, I recently enquired about this directly, and unless I am wrong you have 3 months to enter the UK. The 28 days rule was when the visa was issued for 24 months. What happens at the moment with ILR applications is if you have not completed your 24 months in the UK (as you didn't enter the UK with...

Tasawar, if you read what you wrote and what you are requesting the question will come into many peoples mind to why you need a template for a letter that would be issued should be given a job offer by a company. I doubt highly Was794 meant any harm by what he put. The fact your family run a busines...

Do you have your own room at your parents house? I applied for my spouses visa and I was living with my family and as I had a room to myself it wasn't seen as a problem. As for the financial situation-I can't really comment on this as as far as I am aware you must be able to financially support your...

Salam guys,

I ain't applying for a spousal visa (my husbands was done and dusted last year-thank God it's all over!).

Has anyone submitted 3 months worth of paperwork-e.g. just three bank statements, wage slips etc? A friend of mine has been advised she can get away with it but I have my doubts.

I've had a look at the other thread-I'm finding all this business very confusing :( But hey ho, I will try and get the information in writing (if that is at all possible). Hello,

yes that is correct he entered the UK two months late.

Will the ILR qualifying 'clock' start ticking from all over again or will the previous 22 months my husband has completed be counted towards it?

Regards,

ILR question

Hi guys, my husband entered the UK last year (October 2007) on a spousal visa. However, his visa was issued on August 2007 but due to the sudden death of his Nana he was unable to travel to the UK within the 28 days. He had no problems entering the country and we were told he should carry any docume...
