Re: Cut head on issued passport photo

Update - Nine weeks later, I have finally been sent a new passport to correct the error on the renewed passport. A massive thanks to HMPO for wrecking my travel plans and research field season! 8)

Re: Cut head on issued passport photo

I came across a post describing the same issue here: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/_chat/4542673-new-passport-photo-has-cropped-top-of-head-off Some folks appear to have travelled on a passport issued with a flat top photo but only in the EU, a few claim it is "OK". Maybe it is less of an issue on a ...

Re: Cut head on issued passport photo

Thank you for the responses. It has been frustrating to speak with someone at HMPO who fully understands the situation/actually bothered to read my emails, since I have received standard responses. I then emailed them to ask them to read my emails and it has now been forwarded "to the relevant team ...

Cut head on issued passport photo

Hi all, back on the forum after ages. I renewed my passport abroad and picked it up yesterday. I have noticed that the photo is missing a little portion of the top of my head. The forehead is clear and so is 90-95% of the head, but they decided to chop off the top. So, I have a flat head which is ju...

Re: India - Visa on Arrival

IndiMarshall, thanks for your reply. I have a British passport and OCI so have no problems but the question is on behalf of my partner who is a Spanish national. She has visited India previously for over 30 days (normal visa procedure in Madrid) and once in India we did not visit any FRRO to registe...

India - Visa on Arrival

Hello all, been on the forum after a long time. Question of behalf of someone else:- Is it really necessary to have a return/outgoing flight out of India booked to obtain visa on arrival? Has anyone been asked to provide proof of this at the airport? My understanding is that with VOA, one must leave...

Re: Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI)

Wondering if anyone can confirm this - Is it possible to hand over the foreign passport for the OCI sticker at a different VFS Centre to where the application was originally made? For example, if the application was made in person as VFS Paddington, it is possible to hand over the passport in perso...

Re: Entry Visa and NOT Tourist visa for visiting India

Interesting to know, however, unless one needs to travel urgently to India, I cannot see any benefit in applying for an entry visa. For the cost, OCI is a much better option in the long run unless I am missing something.

Re: Original Birish Passport needed while submitting OCI App

That is not true. I applied this week and the the original passport is returned when applying. Only a photocopy of the original passport is kept by VFS. They will also hold onto to the original Naturalization Certificate and Surrender Certificate. Thanks for the confirmation NOG. Appreciate you hav...

Re: Original Birish Passport needed while submitting OCI App

VFS check your UK passport against the photocopy but return it back to you before you leave. Once your OCI application is approved you will need to take your UK passport back to VFS. They will post it back to you along with the OCI card. Good luck. I have just spoken to VFS customer service and the...

OCI - No postal applications?

Hello All,

Been a while since I've been on the forum, did not bother with applying for OCI for over a year now.

Is it true that postal applications for OCI are no longer accepted by VFS? One MUST go to the VFS Centre for an appointment?

Thanks.

Just an update - The Indian embassy in Madrid was very efficient (yes!) and I was able to surrender the passport through the post.
Documents were returned in 5 working days.
