EEA processing time

2 years ago, UKBA was taking well over the 6 months allowed to process EEA applications, in complete disregard of EU regulations.

Has the situation improved now?

How long did it take for your application to be processed?

Typically UKBA will ask for bank statement and utility invoices in the name of your spouse. Also all the entries and exits are stamped into the passport. Your wife should also receive statuory maternity pay: http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Parents/Moneyandworkentitlements/WorkAndFamilies ...

Travelling during EEA process

Here is a copy of the letter that we received fom UKBA as I recalled my wife passport for Christmas last year: "Dear Sir, Your documents are being returned to enable you to travel. Family members of an EEA national, who are not themselves EEA nationals, wishing to return to the United-Kingdom ...

This is what I did when they couldn't make a decision - explained to the call centre operator clearly that I had to tell my employers whether I could or could not work, as the UKBA were refusing to give me a yes or no answer. They suggested that my employers call them. I said, why, is there ...

You are right, the text specifies "EEA nationals" which would imply EEA1/EEA3 only . Appointment

I extracted the text for UBKA's website this morning and the links clearly indicates that this is for EEA application (no mention that this does not apply to EEA2). You can always make a written request for an appointment and see what they respond. In my view if this is stated on a official ...

Congratulation Chirurgie, One theme clearly appears: action pays and the more you make noise about your case the more chance you will stand that UKBA will do something about your case. This is clearly NOT the way, a Governmental Organization should work !! But given the incredible level of ...

Cheating the stats

Processing new applications over a very short period helps stats look better (don't forget that the issue of UKBA processing time was questioned at Parliament on 1st June 09, so UKBA will have to show some quick signs of improvement) While sorting the older applications would be the logical and fair ...

This is very basic, every time that somebody complains it generates additional work (somebody has eventually to read the complaint, scan it, file it, and respond), therefore people sending numerous complaints will get more attention and see their applications processed faster (in that way they do ...

When did you submit your application. According to HO, EEA2/4 take an average of 8 months, but you can be for a much longer wait.

Cheers. Eric

UKBA incompetence finally questionned

One of the positive points that I see from the links provided by Aussiegirl, is that the blatant INCOMPENTENCE of UKBA is finally being questioned by the Parliament. It sounds like all the complaint letters to MPs had effect after all !!! If we extrapolate the number of 3890 processed late from 1st ...

Removing foreing prisoners

Recovering costs

Hi Directive/2004/38/EC, I did without a solicitor, so I probably spent 25 pounds in recorded letters and a few quids on faxes. As I have seen from a few posts even those using solicitors are experiencing the same wait. Since I had quite a few people asking me for example of letters, I published ...

Hi Zobir, MEP is the Member of European Parliament. Since MEPs ratified Directive/2004/38/EC, they should really be receptive of any breach of it, particularly by their own government. To find your MP/MEP try the following website: http://www.writetothem.com/ There are several aspects on which you ...

Hi Zobir, You asked why some people are waiting 1+ years and others get their PR after 6 to 8 months. The answer is very simple, if you make a lot of noise, you will get UKBA's attention and your application will be processed faster. Do not forget that every time that you complain, it creates more ...
