The period between entry clearance being issued and the applicant entering the UK may be counted toward the qualifying period, as long as it does not exceed 90 days. This can occur if the applicant is delayed travelling to the UK. Provided the period of delay does not exceed 90 days, it will not be...

The 5 years is calculated starting from the date the Tier 1 visa was granted i.e 17 Dec 2008, as he entered the UK within 90 days of the visa being issued.

Therefore, your friend is eligible to apply for ILR on 17 Dec 2013 (or up to 28 days before this date)

Chennai UK visa office email address required

I've applied for a temporary visa in Colombo as I lost my Biometric Residence Permit. Is there an email address I can contact the Chennai UK visa office?

I'm told the visa issuing process could take up to 15 days, I'd be loosing a lot of time if it took that long :-(

I'm now concerned with the specific dates for claiming earnings , can you please have a quick look at my earning table and let me know if I'm on the right track? 10/02/2009 - Tie...

Re: Timeline August 2013

Just sent off my BRP RC for a change in surname. Is anyone else completely offended by the fact that you have to send off all of your documents for 4++ weeks along with a 28 page form AND you have to re-enter your biometrics just to get a new card printed? Insanity! Isn't it all just worth it though!

In my view, the period of not in employment matters only for work permit visa holders. For tier 1 visa, you just need to satisfy the points required your ILR earning eligibility. may be a stupid question, but I've read they ask payslips and P40/P60 for all 5 years. Why would this be required if onl...

Invoice from client for ILR documentation

Hello - a quick one.

Are invoices from my client (well agency) a mandatory requirement? if yes then is there a format that the client needs to produce them.

If not, then do need to provide the contract document or something else apart from bank statements, accountant letter etc?

Cheers

I believe dividend payment date matters. If you had no or very little earnings during the claim period but you had dividend payments, UKBA may question it. I am not entirely sure. Other members can share their experience or comments. I can't find any reference to which date would be used in the off...

Just to add that if I use the dividend paid date, I'd be able to include some income, that I wouldn't be able to if I used the invoice paid date.

For the purpose of earned income - is it the Invoiced date or the Dividend payment date that matters?

Ltd company - claiming this year's dividends in 2013

I'm currently not invoicing my client, with the intention of invoicing them in 2013 for all the work I'm doing now so I can claim that for next years instead of the current year.

Would this be an issue?

Recommendation for solicitor for ILR application

I'll be going in to apply for my ILR in Feb 2014, as I would've accrued 5 years on my Tier 1 General visa. As I'm now contracting under a limited company, I'll have to make extra sure I have all the paper work, and I really can't let this one go wrong. Can forum members recommend reputed solicitors ...

This seems unfair as I had only to show above 26K for my initial Tier-1 application and the same for my extension (not that I wont be able to satisfy this new requirement)

Both of these methods require the employer to be very understanding of your situation. Despite having a low success rate historically, might be worth a try before you go out lookin...

Visa checking when going for contract role through agency

As it's my first time contracting through an agency just want to know if it's the Agent or the end Client who checks on my visa status?

If it's the agent, convincing the agent is more doable as I've formed a very good relationship with the head-hunter.
