Dear All, Wondering if anyone could shaed some light. My aunt has been in the UK since 1975 and acquired ILR in the early 1980's. She is now 80 years old and hasn't flown abroad for the last 5 years but I do recall her having some issues when she returned after holiday as she had the old style ILR i...
Hello everyone, it has been a while since my last visit here... 5 years! I have to thank again all those who assisted me back then (Vinny & Obie) and I have to say that immigrationboards has certainly helped me with my hurdles. So to summarise, I returned to the UK via the Surinder Singh route, afte...
Hi Andy, we got back last October. Apply for her national insurance number as when you receive the letter, it's easy to open a bank account which then starts the ball rolling... Good luck mate!
For those of you who know me from my previous posts, I managed to come back to the UK via Surinder Singh last October 2009 thanks to this forum's invaluable information. Since October I had claimed jobseekers allowance although that has stopped as I have now found a job and am working again ( since ...
What if the husband is British and brought his spouse over through the Surinder Singh route?? Can any of them claim benefits ? If the husband does will t affect his spouse's eea2 application?
Starting from the beginning when she was illegal, it took about a year and a half....
Starting from when she made the application for the permit... it took about 3 weeks to receive it, bearing in mind Italy is literally "shut down" over August, so that might have been a factor for the delay.
Yesterday we received a text to go and collect our documents at The Worldbridge centre.... SUCCESS !!! We finally got the EEA Family Permit !!! It's been a long hard process, but if you manage to get all the documents in tact, cover all bases.... it does come through!!! I'd like to take this opportu...

Thanks for the reply Obie. Wow, where did your friend apply from? Makes me wonder how they could define that as a marriage of convenience?!?
I will also include a letter which confirms an interview for a job upon my arrival back in the UK. Any thoughts,
Your answers are always greatly appreciated!
Hi everyone, the interview is coming closer and closer. I've manage to compile a stack of documents for the interview. One thing I would like to ask is that I understand a requirement of using the Surinder Singh rule is that we have been living together in the EEA state where I was exercising my tre...
Thanks Vinny, Hi Ciaramc, how is everything?? The first application wasn't an EEA Family Permit but for a standard UK visitors visa. I applied online and filled in the application online too. is your wife a british citizen? if she is still filipino citizen then yes she would have to get a visa from the Italian embassy, pretty straightforward getting it. You might want to apply for it in advance as some of my family (who are filipino citizens) tried coming over to Italy for my wedding, bu...
Thanks for your reply, I will be starting the process of his passport at the end of the month as he was only born a few weeks ago. Don't know how long it will take though.
