Hi, I'm not sure how reliable your solicitor is but every applicant MUST have an NIC card or else once their passport goes into the system and is subsequently ready for collection, they will have no form of ID and Gerry's won't release the passport (in fact, they won't take the application without h...

Hi, I don't know enough about this to help with your particular situation but there are some excellent moderators and contributors on this forum who will no doubt assist you. I just want to say that if you do resubmit a fresh application, don't fall into the trap of thinking you only need to prove 2...

Congratulations. My husband collected his passport today also, with the visa dated 24th March 2010 so not too bad. He resubmitted on 9th March 2010. He should, Insha'Allah, be arriving home this Sunday!

Sorry, forgot to mention the positive which is that Islamabad seem to be taking less than a month after passport resubmission to send back ready for collection; my husband's took exactly 3 weeks to stamp and return.

Allowed appeals are dealt with by the Appeals Implementation Unit (AIU) in Leeds, UK. They have to officially send the Judge's Determination Letter to the overseas post before Islamabad issue a call letter. My MP got confirmation from AIU in January that they have a 6 to 8 month backlog. It is getti...

Great News!

My husband resubmitted his passport following an allowed appeal in November last year, and exactly 3 weeks later he received a call from Gerry's today to say his passport is ready for collection (Thank God). He will be collecting his documents tomorrow and booking a flight home for this weekend. Tha...

Naseer Bhai Can you let us know how long Gerry's say it will take for your wife to get her passport back, when she submits on Monday? A couple of months ago they were saying 21 days, then at the start of this month they started telling people 28 days so it would be interesting to see whether they am...

Hi, if you read around pages 234-236 of the Spousal Visa - Pakistan thread you will find some timelines provided by people whose refusals were recently overturned. Mine was an allowed appeal and it took over 3 months to receive the call letter, assisted by MP intervention. It appears as though the p...

I think they are saying 28 days at the moment so in UKBA / Gerry speak that probably means anything from 4 to 6, maybe up to 8 weeks. Insha'Allah it will be no more than 4 weeks for all of us. There is also the added issue of the new IT hardware implementation taking place next weekend which will no...

Online banking

In my case I asked my online bank to send a letter direct to my solicitor giving my name, address, how long I had banked with them and listing all of the accounts (with numbers) that I held with them. They charged £10 but it was easier than getting the printed statements attested as I bank online w...

Appeal Date

For settlement appeals the Home Office has 5 months from the date of appeal documents to submit their bundle of documents supporting their refusal. After 5 months the AIT set a hearing date which is usually 4-6 weeks away depending on Court workload. In my case the hearing was set for 14th October b...

Appeal Allowed Time frame

My husband resubmitted his passport yesterday following an allowed appeal. I know a lot of people are waiting for call letters so I thought I'd share our timeframe to date: Application Submitted: 23rd January 2009 Application Refused: 12th February 2009 Appeal Hearing Date: 16th November 2009 (Judge...

I think the OP concern is that if they went abroad for a while after obtaining entry via settlement visa, his wife would not subsequently satisfy the ILR criteria. Would they have to keep requesting FLR (if allowed) or re-apply in the future?

Settlement Visa Appeal Allowed Nov 2009

My husband's appeal was allowed on 16th November 2009. We have chased the Appeals Sections in both Abu Dhabi and Islamabad. They confirmed 11 weeks after the appeal that they hadn't received the Judge's Determination yet and asked for a copy to be e-mailed to them. They also asked for my husband's t...

Hafsa, I would suggest that you re-apply. You are looking at the difference between a 1 month wait and a 10+ month wait if you appeal. It could be longer if the AIT court date gets postponed; in my case there was an additional 5 week delay because of staff sickness at my court which led to my date g...

Thank You High Aimer

I've been trying to find out whether to stay patiently waiting for my husband's call letter to arrive (appeal allowed at hearing almost 10 weeks ago) or to start chasing. Call Letter

High Aimer

When you resubmitted your passport, did the call letter come by standard postal service or was it signed for? How many weeks after the appeal did you receive it?

Thanks

Thank You Mr Batley Khan!!

I would like to ask your advice on one thing; following allowed appeals, if someone does not receive ...
