Your absence in the 12 months immediately before applying for ILR cannot exceed 90 days . Not sure where you get 180 days from. You need to be resident in the UK to apply for citizenship. OK thanks, As long as the conditions of the the residence card being issued is still valid, you need not worry about refusal of entry when you do come back. However if in the future if you do apply for PR/citizenship based on family ties, you might have a break, the accepted break with valid reason...
