Since he is from one of the visa free country, I think he doesnt need to apply for a re-entry visa for returning Ireland. You might want to check if the country you are intending to travel to is also visa free for you tho.

Hi El Niño: I don't see why not. Nothing indicates otherwise in the INIS website. Just to be sure, I'd give them a call just in case. (01) 6167700. Choose option 3 and then option 5 (if they haven't changed the menus---anyway it should be general immigration and they only attend the phone on Tuesd...

Just an update on my situation for whoever is interested.

I have applied for the stamp 6 visa which otherwise known as the permission to stay without condition as to Time endorsement on Monday, I haven't get anything back yet, so fingers crossed.

Thanks for the reply. Ya that was I was told by the immigration officer when I went down there ( Nasty attitude she had on her)

So I was told to write a letter to General Immigration to explain my situation and see what happens.... Its a very confusing situation to be in to say the leaset...

So your daughter is on a stamp 4 at the moment, correct?
I was told to write a letter to the General Immigration office to put my case forward for them to decide should my time spent here on a stamp 2 visa count towards Naturalisation purpose....
