Hello all, I got my UK naturalisation certificate early September and am in the process of receiving my UK passport. I would like to visit India in late October for a week and wanted to know the least complicated way to do it. I know OCI can take months so should I apply for an Indian visa as soon ...

That is exactly why I asked. The passport does not actually carry the Residence Permit any longer as it's now issued as a separate card. Obviously Indian High Commission being what it is, they haven't updated their instructions to accommodate the change.

Switching from PSW to dependant of Tier 1

Hello

I have leave to remain in UK as Tier 1 (general) till 2012. My wife is on PSW till July 2010. Can I add her as a dependant before her leave expires or does she have to leave UK and then return as a dependant?

Thanks

Child's passport on PSW visa

My wife and I are both on PSW. I am about to apply in person for our two-month-old daughter's passport at the Indian High Commission. No, the two years under PSW do not count:

That's very good news congratulations. I think the reason judges are becoming more sympathetic or understanding is because they are struggling to come to grips with the constantly changing and mostly illogical HO guidelines as well. Which is why the more appeals there are and more people point out ...

Essentially you have to be a bit lucky... as technically you cannot introduce new evidence, and new bank statements mean new evidence. I slightly disagree as Nationality, Immigration and Asylum Act 2002 Part 5 Section 85 says: On an appeal under section 82(1) or 83(2) against a decision an ...

If you are confident of presenting your case before the judge I'd say go for it. I did it and my appeal was allowed. No one will know your case/circumstances better than yourself. But do your homework and prepare your case well. In my case I thought UK funds were enough so did not include overseas ...

Hi Jack, I received my 'call letter' a few days back after an almost 10-week wait. It was sent to my home address as I ...

You should definitely show both accounts, the more funds the better. In the covering letter make sure you mention you are sending statements for two banks and include the bank name and account number for each to avoid confusion. Also, for the overseas bank try to get a letter from branch manager ...

My appeal decision was 12 March and I'm still waiting for HO to ask me for my passport. I had called them earlier and was told it would be end of April but it's almost end May now. So i guess it varies from case to case.

If it's only 1.5 pounds short for one day, i would say they'll give you the visa. But if it does reach the appeal stage you are bound to win easily.
