thank you for your reply but i want to know what going to happen to her 3 years DL leave? can we wait when the 3 years is about to expire to lodge an apllication with form FLR(M) which i suppose mean Further Leave to remain.

you can apply in december 2009 depending on the date your 5 years were issue. eg if your 1st 5 yeras stamp was dated 10 december 2003 then you apply on the 11 december2009.

as you hold ILr you can use the european line when you come back.
actually a friend of mine has been told so recently by an immigration officer at gatwick. i will do that anyway next month when i will be coming back.

the thing is that i will have 2 passport british + my home country.
