Diesel,

Don't know which company you selected for the test. However, IELTS apparently takes 4 weeks, TOEFL 2 weeks and Pearson takes around 5 days as per my research to provide results.

Just posting for benefit of others.....

Ok, the update is that we are thinking of trying another route... We will apply for the fast track service offered by NARIC and apply via postal application to UKBA before the deadline. Does anybody know if Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture (Pakistan) is approved by NARIC? This is a univer...

Dear Greenie, Thank you for your reply. Yes, the visa was valid for 27 months but we entered UK late due to unavoidable circumstances which I won't get into right now. Hence, she is applying for FLR. Even though my son and wife's applicaton was made at the same time, the visa issuance dates varied a...

My wife has passed the KOL test and has the certificate. My wife's visa is expiring on 18th March,2012 (around one week). She...

Shahzad,

Thank you for replying.

Didn't know that the TB test is of no use anymore. I was secretly hoping that it will still be considered valid!

Any idea what the charge is to take this at the airport? You seem to have been through this....

My Call In letter is a bit different from those pasted above. Received this on email on the 30th of Dec, 2010 (after 2 months of receiving Notice of Withdrawal) and submitted passport on 4th Jan, 2011 with a printout of the letter. Still waiting for news. Current status on Gerry's says "Visa applica...

Hello Shadow86, My wife and son already have a visa as mentioned above. My daughter (who was rejected and had the decision overturned) will be asked to submit her passports in the Call Letter which we are waiting for. Hence, the answer to your question is No. We do not need to submit a TB certificat...

ASA Tasawar and mrsahmed, We had the decision overturned after 3 and a half months from the time we submitted our appeal papers. I realize that 10 weeks is not that long a time but our journey started with a settlement visa application in July, 2009 so it has been a year and a half since we have bee...

mrsahmed, Thank you for your reply. Yes, we did give an email address in the appeal form but have not received anything yet. I did send an email to the following addresses but received generic answers telling me to wait and that I will hear from them in due course: UKHUB.PakistanSettlementEnquiriesa...

Just had a horrific thought.... what if the Call in Letter is delivered to the wrong address/house by the mailman? This is not uncommon in Pakistan. Due to the fact that there seem to be no time limits on the receipt of this letter, one keeps waiting in hope and anticipation. There is no other alter...

Thank you Casa and Vinny. You have both been very helpful! I will wait till I get to the UK and try to meet someone in person there who can guide me as to what will work best for me. Like Casa said, things from Pakistan work very slowly and I do not want to risk getting the passports stuck in proces...

My options

Hi everyone, My options after my 6 month old daughter's rejection are as follows: 1. Appeal (Full right of appeal is allowed) 2. Lodge a fresh application (This time, I will rent a flat in UK as opposed to a hotel booking and include it with my application.) 3. Both of the above We are not going for...

Hi Mohammad Khan,

Congratulations.

What was the mode of communication you used (email/fax/letter through courier)?

Did you ask the ECO to review your case or was it an appeal that you made?

Thanks

Re: Rejection

My cash in hand and provident funds are enough to last me and my family for over 2 years as per legal requirements of GBP 100 per couple and GBP 110 for 2 children (1 is aged 3 years and the other, 6 months). I also assumed a monthly rent of GBP 700 in my budget. These sums are per WEEK not per mon...
