Re: Documents to send for child's first passport

I guess my question boils down to - is it enough to send my PR document (along with my Greek passport) as supporting documents in my daughter's British passport application under treaty rules, or do I need to send further proof like P60s and whatnot?

Documents to send for child's first passport

Hi - it's been a while since I've done this, and reading the guidelines I'm unsure about which documents to send for my second child's British passport. I obtained PR in 2014 and my first child was born in 2015. When we applied for her passport directly I sent along loads of documents including P60s...

Re: PR Application Refused for Non-EU Wife

I wasn't expecting such a prompt reply, but the Home Office has had a bit of a bollocking for their poor service and I expect they are under pressure to take complaints re: errors on their part seriously. If you feel like they've made a similar mistake on your case try the complaints email address (...

Re: PR Application Refused for Non-EU Wife

Resolution! After drafting a letter that I was preparing to post, as well as contacting my local MP's office, I received a response after emailing the Home Office complaints address. This was forwarded on to the Permanent Migration team, and a technical officer on the team got back to me this mornin...

Re: PR Application Refused for Non-EU Wife

I applied on October 27, just several days before you. Looks like we're dealing with very similar situations. I'm going to try calling/emailing tomorrow, see if I can get any answers. At least you haven't received a rejection letter (yet)! If I find any answers I'll update here. I may also try conta...

Re: PR Application Refused for Non-EU Wife

CoA with right to work arrived right around the same time as biometrics letter, don't remember which came first. Both arrived within 3-4 weeks of applying. Significantly, the CoA and biometrics letters both have the case ID number that is still open (and sequential to my own case ID). That combined ...

Re: PR Application Refused for Non-EU Wife

So...a bit of an update. In preparing an email to the Liverpool offices to complain (and planning on calling when office opens Monday) I realised that they have issued two different case ID numbers for my wife. On 27/10/17 I received a confirmation email with a case ID for my wife's application, the...

PR Application Refused for Non-EU Wife

Applied for PR for myself (EU citizen living and exercising TR in UK since 2009) and my wife (married and living in UK since 2009, had 5-year RC issued in 2012) in October 2017. Online application, fee paid online, documents (P60s, letter from employer, recent bills, etc.) sent a few days later. CoA...

Re: Child of EU national: Automatic British citizenship or Register as British?

That is worrying - are they essentially doubting their own ability to issue passports correctly the first time, and therefore asking for proof for every subsequent re-issuing? Is there any indication how widespread this request for information for renewals of the children of EEA citizens born Britis...

Re: Child of EU national: Automatic British citizenship or Register as British?

I'm was in almost identical situation, and can answer this as I went through it last year! Assuming you have maintained residency since acquiring PR following qualifying period, your child is a BC by birth. You do not need to fill out MN1 form or pay any fee to obtain citizenship. I'm unaware of any...

Dual US/EEA citizen applying for PR - send both passports?

The subject says it all! I'm a dual US-EEA (Greek) citizen and am unsure whether they expect me to send both my Greek ID card and US passport along, or just the Greek? I'd rather keep the US one with me if they don't require it, but they ask you on the form for any other citizenships and do not spec...

Thanks! I'll include one with a cover letter requesting they use it. If not, I'll just have to trust in the reliability of Royal Mail's standard service.

How 'other' are the non-required documents?

Hi all Just putting in PR for me (EEA) and non-EEA wife. One thing I found odd about the PR online application form - on the checklist at the end, they have 'Required' and 'Other' documents, but they don't let you submit the application until you have checked all of the boxes saying you'll provide e...

Include self-addressed envelope?

Hi all, Just about to put in for my EEA PR + non-EEA wife's PR. I meet all of the qualifications and it should be a fairly straightforward application as I have 5 continues years of payslips, P60s and a letter from my employer. Just a simple question - no where on the (online) form do they say to in...

Re: Non-EU Wife's PR

Thanks for the reply. I can show all of that, and I'll probably wait until after some travels in September to put in the application. I was just wondering if people were delaying it to see how the Brexit debates work out regarding EU citizens and their families. But just regarding a followup questio...

Non-EU Wife's PR

Hi! Just looking for some advice/clarity if possible. I'm a Greek national and have been living in the UK since 2006 (including exercising treaty rights, so I have de facto PR under current law). My wife (American) has been here since we got married in 2009, though she was initially under a student ...

Re: Passport Application Child of EEA citizen

Thanks for the input. I have the HMPO treaty guidelines, and will be providing 5 years (2009-14) of P60s, payslips for the entire 5-year period and a letter from my employer during that time. Can throw in a few bank statements/council tax bills, though those would probably be superfluous. Can't find...

Passport Application Child of EEA citizen

Hi folks, just getting together my daughter's UK passport application and had a few questions about the logistics from anyone who has done this already. She does qualify as I did acquire PR in 2014, I have established that, I just need to know how other people have gone about putting their applicati...

EEA extended family

Hi, just a quick few questions about my wife's brother (non-EEA citizen). I am an EU citizen living in the UK for the past 10 years, my non-EU wife has lived her with me since we were married 7 years ago (she has a RC). I don't have a PR card, though I did acquire PR as was employed full-time for ov...

Re: Supporting Documents for EEA Child's UK Passport

Thanks for the help! I suppose knowing much of this stuff wasn't necessary until our daughter came along. When coming back from holiday trips we've been going through with her US passport, which has no residence card. They always give us grief, but stamp it with the EEA family member stamp eventuall...

Re: Supporting Documents for EEA Child's UK Passport

I did not have CSI, as I was told it was unnecessary at the time. I was advised by the uni to simply register with a GP once I arrived in 2006 for my studies, which I did. My work for 2009-2014 was continuous for 5 years, and for the year before that I was registered self-employed. It is the past 23...

Supporting Documents for EEA Child's UK Passport

Hi, I'm getting together my documents to apply for my daughter's British passport (she was born in the UK, I'm a Greek citizen and my wife is American). I have been living in the UK since 2006, first studying and then working full-time from 2009-2014. After being made redundant, I was on Jobseekers ...

Thanks for the advice. The idea is just to get her the RC, not fussed about the Permanent RC for myself. I have been working for 3+ years now, with my first year of full-time employment coinciding with my last year of studies. But as I said, not fussed. Will just ignore then, and send in without any...

Health Insurance on EEA2 application

Hi, I'll soon be posting my much-delayed EEA2 application off, and am wondering about the 'proof of insurance' (CSI) bit. It seems quite black-and-white, telling me to send in proof of CSI or an EHIC card. I have neither, as I have been a European citizen living and working (full-time) in the UK for...
