Re: Online EEA PR and EU passport return service available

Can you only use the passport return service if it's available in your borough? Our registry office doesn't provide the service, but there are others within easy reach that do. One even offers it as a drop-in service- so no appointment. Will I get my passport and RC returned to me as a non-EEA natio...

Re: MN1 form same-sex parents

Thanks. Not sure how much clearer it all is though. You think they'd have sorted this on the government forms. My wife isn't listed as the father on the birth certificate, but the other parent. Seems to me other forms should be updated to reflect this.

MN1 form same-sex parents

The form asks for the details of the parents. However, it asks for father and mother. Obviously, there is no father as we are two women. I'm non-EEA and birth mother. My wife is an EEA national and the other parent. However, there is no 'other parent' option. The success of the application is relian...

Help with online EEA and non-EEA spouse PR application

Background: I'm non-EEA (American) and my wife is EEA (Dutch). We've been living here for almost 8 year (since Aug 2010), but only the last 5 years qualify for PR as we didn't realise we needed CSI whilst she was a student. We have one child, born May 2017. I'm currently filling out the online appli...

Re: BREXIT WITHDRAWAL AGREEMENT.

The law seems not to be well understood. The most relevant piece of law is Article 4(1) of The Immigration (Control of Entry through Republic of Ireland) Order 1972 . This is what enabled Irishmen to be treated as settled as soon as they took up residence in the UK, whereas Australians, who are als...

Re: BREXIT WITHDRAWAL AGREEMENT.

No. I am assuming he was born in the UK. At his age he could only have PR if a sponsor had come to the end of his/her working life. He would only be British if his mother (or you) had attained PR when he was born, or one of you had most recently entered the UK from the Republic of Ireland. You coul...

Re: BREXIT WITHDRAWAL AGREEMENT.

Hi everyone. We are trying to decide when to apply for PR. My wife is EEA and I'm not. We've been here for 7.5 years, but I couldn't apply at 5 years as we could find certain docs to confirm 5 years of treaty rights, so we had to collect another 5 years. We are now there. We were wondering with Brex...

Renewing RC EEA2 & Passport

My RC will expire in March 2016, so I need to send off to renew asap to ensure I have the required documents to continue working as they check my right to work every year. However, my passport wil expire in Sept 2017, so I'd rather renew that early so I don't run into the issue ofan expired passport...

I was hoping to be able to apply for PR, but we got some wires crossed and ended up without comprehensive sickness insurance for 6 months during the time my EEA spouse was a students. There are additional requirements when self-employed and looking for work. I have to reapply soon as my current RC is set to expire in March 2015. I have no problem paying a fee, but it better mean a better and quicker service, something the UK isn't known for. The Netherlands may have a small fee (not sure if they do but others have mentioned it), but you usually get your...

Dutch Citizenship - Naturalisation

Clarity on the following would be much appreciated! I am an American who has been living with my Dutch partner since 2009, first in Ireland and now in the UK. We have been resident in UK for 3 years now under EU law. We recently got married in Amsterdam (Aug 2013). In regards to the following: "You ...

EEA2 only looks at evidence at the time of the application. Not a lengthy duration of time. You can also apply for EEA4 with the evidence you have and if refused apply for EEA2. Never really thought about trying with the chance of refusal, but I guess why not. Thanks. Glad it's only current instead...

EEA2 again instead of EEA4

I still have a little while to go before I can apply for the EEA4, but I was looking and realised we think we made a mistake.
