Hi

for those parents about to apply for ILR via the postal service and expecting a baby, best to do the same day premium service as this will save you lots of headache as your child will be born british.

ILR holders have access to plublic funds and furthermore have no bearing on your BC application in the future.

Like you, I am a South African as well and I chose to retain my S.A. citizenship. You just never know what a country will be like in 20 -30 years time. The whole process for me in applying for permission went smooth. I did it 7 months before actually applying for BC. If you choose to loose your S.A....
