I think as per the new rules,3 years study for undergraduate and 5 year post graduate study period is applicable from april 2011 onwards and not the time already spent as a student..

Thanks a lot vinny and ash..I recently came to know about this..I was thinking that 10 yrs must comprise of in country extensions only which can be really difficult.
Moral-Maximum 180 days allowed outside the country in 3653.. :idea:

Hi there, If a person is in UK(Student>PSW>Tier 1 G)for few years,He/she leaves the country on/before the date of expiry of the visa,applies for a PBS based visa within a week or so and gets it.He/she does it every now and then and makes up 10 years then will it be counted as a Continuous stay with ...

mate,If you are looking for a 10 year route then it's worth looking for a work permit within EU.If you have a masters/skills then you could be eligible for a PR in few EU straightaway.Google EU BLUE CARD.

It is for the NEW students,apply for extension before 21st April IF Posible,so the old rules apply wherein you can work 20 hrs/placement etc etc.

@sunmoon,the changes are for those who apply for extension/Ec since june...I think if u are a current student of a HTS then u preserve the right of 20 hrs work.Correct me if I am wrong.
